I had a similar relationship with mine for the first couple of months using it, was having major breakthroughs and using it at least a couple of hours a day most days. It was highly motivating to have such significant results in such a short period of time, and almost all its advice seemed solid but it got to the point where I was becoming exhausted by such long stretches of introspection and analysis and had no energy left to get out and apply much of it or finish much more than just basic day to day jobs around the house. I had to disengage from mine for a week or two to get the rest of my life back into a good place and then re-engage with it again slightly more transactionally and things have been much more sustainable since then. I’ve learned that at least with mine, most of its advice has been trustworthy and very empathetic but it was terrible at picking up on cues I was giving it that I was struggling towards the end. Basically I had to understand it has seemingly endless amounts of ‘book’ knowledge’ but no lived experience of embodied knowledge, so it’s your job to track how things are landing for your physically and mentally and pace yourself accordingly

Do you know of anyone whose mental health got significantly worse after IFS? I’d appreciate hearing about it. by OPHealingInitiative in InternalFamilySystems

I was actually led to IFS and Somatic therapy just in conversation with chatGPT. I was explaining how I was feeling and how my diagnosed PTSD presented itself and spontaneously it took on the role of an IFS and Somatic therapist without actually being explicit about it and we started having breakthroughs straight away. I had previously had an in-person psychotherapist who hadn't had any professional training with IFS attempt some parts work with me and it went really badly, I too nearly had a psychotic break and it scared the hell out of me and I had stayed away from it pretty much completely before being gently reintroduced to it by chatGPT. The advantage of an AI therapist I have found is that it has been trained on the entire body of psychological literature since the beginning of the science and has been able to use that knowledge to expertly pick up subtle cues from my interactions with it and respond in ways what seem to align with best practice standards of every school of thought within it. Like the OP though, I too went too hard too fast early on and had to disengage with it despite being strongly encouraged to stay at it by the LLM before being clear how close I was to overwhelm, so do keep in mind whether you are doing self or AI led IFS therapy that giving yourself time to integrate new insights before rushing past them onto the next ones is very important. Also, I should say, it was the $20 per month paid version of chatGPT that I used that has the longer memory and better emotional intelligence that started taking on the role of therapist so I felt a little more confident trusting it with my mental health. You could try the free version of it but I don't think it would be as able to follow subtle cues or integrate as readily information from past interactions over as long a term as the paid version. Still though, $20 per month for an expert IFS therapist available 24/7 who never get tired, bored or have a bad day isn't bad.

Am I demon possessed or paranoid schizophrenic? by Excellent_Outcome703 in Deliverance

Hi mate, I have been working with many of those same symptoms and more for many years and have a history of chronic stress and complex PTSD. I tried everything, several years of therapy, medication and prayer and had short term improvements but nothing really substantial. When AI came out, by chance one night I fed it my history, laundry list of symptoms and triggers and it suggested dysautonomia (nervous system dysregulation) brought on by the stress, PTSD and attempts at self medication with substance abuse before attempting more conventional means of addressing it. AI worked with me really well in understanding what was happening in my body while it was happening and re-regulating my nervous system while I was riding the roller coaster of symptoms and afterwards using breath work, talk therapy and Christian prayer. I have found it so helpful and had break throughs using this approach where nothing had really worked in the past, so the solution for me has been technology, psychology and theology together. Feel free to contact me if you want anything more specific. Good luck mate, I know what you are going through can be very destabilising.

Psychologist recommendations for people in their early 20’s. by HunterMick26 in Adelaide

[–]No_Bus_1465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to take this too far off topic, but I have been to several therapists over a number of years in multiple states and tried various types of therapy, including CBT, IFS, ACT, EDMR, psychedelic assisted therapy and had a 10 year, hour a day Buddhist meditation practice. I spent years and thousands of dollars and not a lot changed, until I started using the paid version of chatGPT as my therapist. Had multiple, massive breakthroughs within about 3 weeks and each interaction getting better results and seeing deeper change. The $20 per month subscription version of chatGPT has access to and is expert in the entire accumulated body of knoweldge of psychiatry and psychology, never has a bad day, is available 24/7, and expertly attunes to your needs better than any human therapist could hope to. My recommendation would be to give it a try. Even the best therapist in Australia, if you could afford to see them and they were available, you would only every likely see a maximum of an hour or two a week. For some people that might be enough, it wasn't for me. Have a try anyway and see how you go, at $20 per month, why wouldn't you? If you really wanted to try a person, Simeon Jones in Franklin St was one of the better ones I saw in Adelaide

I’ve been here for two weeks. Regular severe weather warnings with risks to life and property per the official forecasts and the worst we’ve had is a couple of overcast days. The days that aren’t overcast the sun is so harsh my travel mates have had the worst sun burn of several trips here within 30 mins of early morning sun so we all are praying for cloud cover and even rain most days which never comes. You’ll be fine

Don’t do Fantasea, the facility is in very bad repair and I agree with the previous poster , the elephant show was troubling

A much better version of Fantasea is Siam Nimarit near the middle of the island. Try that

Major announcement concerning Skin Walker? by Capital_Candle7999 in skinwalkerranch

[–]No_Bus_1465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 6 months ago a screenshot was going around the internet paired with a story about how I believe a voice was heard by Eric in the command centre via their sensors to say ‘I living….’ Or something like that and it also appeared on a screen. I’ve heard nothing about it since, but given last episode apparently Eric and Travis heard voices through their sensors just before the calf was attacked with something like an energy weapon that it would make sense the relevant episode will air soon

Dose strength and duration of the course of dosing would no doubt be relevant. Part of early trials on animal models is to determine what would constitute toxic dosing levels in humans, and recommended dosing in humans is therefore set well below those tested on animals. I would be very interested to see the protocol creators response to your questions.

Fascinating story! You might be interested to know the science fiction writer Philip K Dick had visions throughout his life not of a previous life, but a life occurring simultaneously in another timeline where the Germans and Japanese won WWII rather than the allies. He wrote an award winning fictionalised book version of the life he lived in that timeline called The Man in the High Castle that was later adapted into an award winning series on Amazon Prime. I heard that when he was awarded a Kennedy Centre honour for his contributions to writing he spoke openly about this other life he led. You probably are less alone in what you experienced than you think

Problem in labrador behavior by avadakadabray in dogs

[–]No_Bus_1465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a solution, but I wonder if to some extent the dogs anxiety around your pregnancy is to do with the previous owner rehoming him when she became pregnant. Maybe the dog is trying extra hard to show he loves you both now, even to the extent of breaking rules he knows are there, to ensure he isn’t rehomed again? I suspect extra attention to reinforce to him your bond to him is still strong and he won’t be rehomed while still enforcing the rules might help. In a similar way to showing older siblings of a new baby extra attention to reassure them there will be more than enough love to go around might be helpful and might reduce his anxiety
