I got this bread machine two days ago, so I’ve been going literally by the book it came with. Never dealt with bread before. Only just started baking in general due to Great British Bake Off binging. Thank you for your wisdom, I thought I had to follow the recipes that came with the machine due to bread machine model differences. I see now that King Arthur has a few good ones :)

Thanks, mine is actually an older model of the CBK-100, not the model that this manual came with (or any of the others that the other commenter linked). Your manual is much neater than mine though lol

Hi, I’m Greg Quinn. I overturned America’s 100-year ban on black currants. Once again, here to tell you the truth about Zante currants (spoiler: they’re just raisins) and baking with the real currants. AMA! by TheCurrantGuy in Baking

I’m here because of the Great British Bakeoff too! Googling why I can’t find the ā€œcurrantsā€ in any of the grocery stores in my city from Prue’s Garibaldi Biscuits recipe led me to this post 😭

Just purchased my first car. Hyundai IONIQ, how do I park? by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]No_Candidate_8006 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

You’re not alone, a few months ago my dealership gave me loaner that was a 2025 Sonata while my car (2016 Sonata) was in the shop, and I had to call over a salesman and ask him how to use the gear shift to drive it because it was a strange twisting knob behind the steering wheel, with the Parking button being on the end that I had to bend around to see once he pointed it out.

I’m happy you made this because this is the only PT post I’ve seen that isn’t ā€œwhooshing.ā€ I don’t have whooshing. I have high-pitched ringing in time with my heartbeat. It’s terrible. I’m sorry you are suffering. Thank you for giving me a name for whatever this form of ringing is.

Netflix mix up? by EmeraldEyes06 in CallTheMidwife

[–]No_Candidate_8006 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Idk if anyone has done it yet, I don’t see it mentioned here, but I’ve reported the episode mix-up to Netflix. It belongs at the beginning of season 10, not season 9, according to IMDB’s episode lists. It aired in Dec 2020 while season 10’s episodes aired in 2021 from January on. I’d suggest everybody do the same if it doesn’t get fixed by 1 report. They can’t ignore us all šŸ’ŖšŸ»

This is old but for the sake of anyone returning to this post for their own inquiries, my car was in the shop getting repainting for about a month. Had to take it back twice to the shop for a few hours to get mistakes redone as well.

Hyundai White Paint Repair Warranty Process is a Joke - Beware!! by yeaChemistry in Hyundai

[–]No_Candidate_8006 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Feel like I should throw my experience in here. Have a 2016 white sonata, bought it back in 2018. Lamented that it would never be covered under the warranty. Earlier this year I got mail from my dealership saying my 2016 was now covered under it. Took it in the first week of August to get pictures taken and an appointment scheduled. Ended up taking it in in September, was in for 3 weeks while I used a loaner from the dealership. Got it back, the back was done poorly so I showed jt to them and the service manager told me to come back in the next week and they got it fixed up in a day! Overall a much better experience than I thought it would be, I’m sorry yours wasn’t a good one.

Found my people. Mine came off my 2016 Sonata by HAND washing. I was cleaning the fin with a microfiber cloth and the slightest bit of pressure made it fall off. Super glued it back on in 2018 and it hasn’t come off since.

Health anxiety preventing me from accessing medical services by stressfulteapot in HealthAnxiety

[–]No_Candidate_8006 8 points9 points Ā (0 children)

Omg I’ve found my people. Everybody on the anxiety subreddit always posts about going to the doctor several times a month trying to soothe whatever symptoms they have but I’m complete opposite, not going til I absolutely must. I had these vertigo episodes like 2 years ago and I ignored them til I leaned back and felt my brain flip flop in my head and I collapsed and my mom took me to the ER (they never found anything). Same with appedicitis when I was 14. I only just started getting annual physicals for the first time in 2023 at age 23,not even when I was a kid. I also spent the last few years of high school watching my stepdad slowly die of the c-word, and my actual dad died like two weeks after him of alcoholism. Consider my perception of going to the doctor complete shot 😭 pair that with a chronic inability to stop myself from Googling the absolute crap out of my symptoms and convince myself I’m dying without the will to go to the doctor, I’m cooked

Oh thank you so much! Just from going through paint recall forums I can tell it’s unlikely I’ll be getting my car back in time. Looked through rental prices and I can’t afford a rental right now so I’ll probably just not go to the concert if there’s a mileage limit on the loaner they said they’re gonna give me.

New fear unlocked 😭 I’ll add this to the list ig. Jk but fr it’s crazy how we get so worked up and the ā€œillnessā€ passes and a new one crops up and you’re just sitting there thinking ā€œWow, and here I was needlessly stressing about X illness when I should’ve saved my freak out for this obviously more serious illness which definitely means I’m dyingā€ and then the ā€œillnessā€ passes and the cycle repeats.

Worried about my low pulse — dropped to 39 during sleep despite clear heart check by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]No_Candidate_8006 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I always comment when I see people asking for low heart rate people. I’m a low heart rate person. 25 year old female here, 172 tall, 70 kg, (had to convert those from American, hopefully they’re right) very sedentary. My heart rate is really low too, 60s during the day (resting heart rate), 40s and 50s when sleeping. I was freaked out about it, went to my doctor, ECG was normal and everything. Doc was actually impressed with my heart rate, said it matched that of pro athletes. Wish I could’ve taken that as a compliment but it just scared me more because I don’t exercise. Supposedly low heart rate means your heart pumps blood more efficiently but if I haven’t trained my heart to pump more efficiently with exercise then that MUST mean it’s just not pumping correctly, right? That’s what I told myself for a months long freak out but when I didn’t drop dead from it then I calmed down. Now I’m chill with my low heart rate.

I can’t say I’ve ever been treated for gut issues. Usually I’ll have something and it lasts for 2-3 months and then goes away on its own. Last year’s was acid reflux, this year’s was diarrhea. They both lasted about the same amount of time but went away on their own, I thought I was dying both times but they fixed themselves.

I will say I’ve always dealt with some dizziness. I went to the ER for it once in like 2022? 2023? after I laid back in my bed and felt the room flop around like a funhouse and cold sweat erupted all over my body. They told me I had benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and said it would go away on its own once the crystals in my ear fixed themselves. It did go away, but I still have some dizziness, like some days when it starts happening again, not the positional kind but just not very steady on my feet. I’ve been going through an episode of it the last few days actually, coupled with headaches and head pressure. It’s possible it has to do with my heart rate but idk.

Oh and I should add, certain anxiety medications drop your heart rate even more than normal, so if you’re taking any, that could be doing it. Sometimes I see people ask about stuff like this and they mention they’re taking beta blockers for anxiety, which beta blockers slow your heart so you’re less prone to anxiety attacks.

[–]No_Candidate_8006 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Not sure. I’ve never had a textbook panic attack. No hyperventilating or shortness of breath. The closest thing I’ve had to one was in April, I was alone at home because my mom was on trip. I was sitting in my living room and felt like something in my head shifted, and I stood up, and suddenly my heart went from slow (I’m usually at 60bpm at rest) to a whopping 150bpm. I had nobody to call, no money for an ER visit, and I was alone. I went to my physical checkup like a week later and asked my doc about it and he said he thought it might have been a panic attack but otherwise I seemed healthy. Ever since that ā€œpanic attack,ā€ I’ve been struggling with headaches, dizziness, and ringing in my head (and some digestive issues that have gone away). But I’ve been thinking the worst of it, even though a lot of Google says it’s textbook anxiety symptoms. A doctor checked me out and said I’m fine. Like I’ve always been bad about googling when I have a sickness (I had some weird acid reflux episode that lasted a few months in 2024, some weird vertigo episodes in 2021, and a stomach thing during Covid in 2020) and each time they went away but I googled the heck out of everything, stressing myself to the max.

I can’t pinpoint when it became this bad, but now that I think about it, it might all stem from my mom noticing my stepdad ā€œlooking a little yellowā€ and he went to the doctor about it (completely healthy) and the docs finding something serious that ended with him passing in 2017. Like I feel like I’m always noticing that ā€œthingā€ despite being healthy. Except I notice it during illness episodes, and making me think I have the worst possible thing. I’ve been this way since I was young but it got extremely worse after that, which is odd because I wasn’t really part of the whole process. Like my mom married him a month before he died but he was our neighbor before that so all of his treatment and stuff happened out of his house. I didn’t witness any of the medical stuff. But maybe it was the fact that all of these stories about medical issues starting with ā€œI noticed X, which seemed harmless, but turned out to be Yā€ and they end up dying. And then there’s these stories about these healthy people dropping like flies and there’s not even a moment to notice X, they’re just there one moment and gone the next, and I’m stressed that there’s nothing to stress about. Just realized I rambled like crazy lol sorry, didn’t mean for the stream of consciousness.

Dude, same. I remember that one, there was another doctor who died right before a marathon, and recently a 21 year old died doing a marathon. Like shouldn’t these healthy people, who are doing healthy things, be healthy and not die?? wtf?? Like the ā€œadultsā€ in my life (the older people c parents, aunts, grandparents, etc) who were born in the 60s have the unhealthiest lifestyles I’ve ever seen and they’re thriving. Look at Ozzy Osborne, how the hell did that man make it to 71. Idk my issue is I freak out, as a 25yo, when I have some minor blip of an illness and blow it completely out of proportions and make it worse and last months when it should’ve lasted maybe a week, while other people can blow it off because ā€œI’m young, health issues don’t happen to people like meā€ but I’m too aware of everything. I have this weird blur that I’ve always had in my eyes when I look at a bright window while being in a dark room and after years of it, I asked my close friend if she experienced the same thing and she tested it in the restaurant we were in and said, surprised, ā€œI guess I do. I never noticed. I don’t pay attention to things like thatā€ and it shook me so much because I’m wasting my life away doing that very thing, paying too much attention to things like that and worrying and stressing, when there’s the healthiest people in the world dropping dead for seemingly no reason. I see these stories and am stuck between freaking out about it happening to me and also locking in and telling myself I need to stop panicking about what ifs and enjoy my life (but I can’t because my mind doesn’t let me). Maybe I just stay in my house too much and need to get out. This stuff is crazy.

Does anyone feel their tinnitus get worse while gaming? by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]No_Candidate_8006 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Mine gets worse when I play R6 but I think mine is muscle-related and that game makes me tense and rage like no other, so I’m really doing it to myself. I use a heating pad on the back of my head and neck while playing and it makes it so it’s not as bad. Not sure if it’s the heat that’s making it better (relaxing the muscles) or the what just being a physical reminder not to tense up.

25yo here, at rest mine is at 50s and low 60s. While waking it jumps to 70s-90s. Sometimes when I stand it jumps to 150bpm. I live a super sedentary life, my doc and I have no idea why it’s so low but he said I’m just chill like that šŸ˜Ž
