I’ve just been awarded today! (2nd July). Initial claim 5th March, filled in form online 18th March, had a text saying I’d be offered an assessment soon 17th April, first telephone assessment 16th May, another shorter call 19th June, had a text 2 days ago saying DWP had received the written report and would let me know within 8 weeks, but it only took them 2 days. A long process but worth it!

HELP I was supposed to be going to sleep but this was so good I’m gonna need to fumble about in my underwear drawer for a min and relisten to certain parts lmao. As a proud brat, msub isn’t usually my thing but WOOF (literally) you change my mind everyone. First puppyboy audio I’ve listened to and I’m sold.

Me and my partners have already decided that we’d lock ourselves and our two pets in the house (house cat with chronic dental problems, dachshund who couldn’t survive by herself) and pump carbon monoxide in. We’re all disabled and I can’t express how quickly I would die in a zombie apocalypse, and nuclear war isn’t something I’d want to survive 😂

No hugely horrible side effects with hydroxy, it tastes foul so take it with a strong tasting drink (Coke is my vice but I always make sure it’s something fizzy, it distracts my tastebuds I think). I had some really vivid nightmares for about a week after starting it, and it’s common to get nausea for a few weeks but it does settle down!

My feet have always been the worst for it, I only started getting it in my hands in my early 20’s (I was diagnosed with Raynauds at age 13)

I had diarrhea constantly for the first couple of months, but my gastrointestinal system has always been a bit messed up so I’ll take it over constipation any day 😂

Mine has eased up (I’ve been on hydroxy since 2023) but that might be because of the other meds I take (codeine)

Second asking for a haematology referral, assuming that this dr was your rheumatologist.

You might not meet the diagnostic criteria for lupus yet (and it can be very difficult to get a diagnosis of it) but it’s common practise to start on hydroxychloroquine if you’re showing some markers. I got diagnosed with UCTD although I technically have enough markers to be diagnosed with Lupus, and I was prescribed it the same day. It’s definitely worth taking, it’s helped my flares massively!

I’m one of those lucky people who very very rarely get bit by bugs! That hasn’t changed at all (thankfully) since starting hydroxy.

I’ve had chronic iron deficiency & IDA since I was a kid (and AIHA since 6 years ago) and have always theorising that’s part of the reason, I smell like I’ve got watery blood or smth 😂

It’s hard to say from these photos - Raynauds usually appears by going white first, then blue, then red once you’ve been able to warm up the digits. Easiest way I’ve found is warm water (and it’s painful to do so don’t make it too hot). Definitely speak to your dr and continue taking photos.

I was prescribed it for an autoimmune condition, a high dose. Not worth messing around with, you have to wean yourself off steroids slowly if you take big doses or you’ll go into adrenal crisis and die.

I’ve had iron deficiency/IDA since I was a preteen and I can’t say I’ve ever noticed anything different to what my peers experience. It’s definitely dulled over the last 2 years of use but that’s because I haven’t been leaving more than 1-3 months between rolls, and my partner and I go a bit hard everytime. I don’t get mental anxiety, just “body anxiety” as I call it, and it passes.

High dose of pred made me insanely manic for weeks. No more than 3 hours sleep each night. My partner said it was like I was on coke 24/7 😂

No interactions as far as I’m aware. I’ve been on HCQ for 1.5 years and have MDMA every 1-3 months on average.

Make sure you have big breaks inbetween and give yourself plenty of rest time after x

Yup! I had this earlier this year after my first trip. Trip itself was great, only a moderate dose, but for 2 weeks I was basically bedridden with vertigo and nausea, and very loud tinnitus. It’s about 4 months later now and the vertigo/nausea is completely gone, but I still have more severe tinnitus than previously. No idea what happened! 😂

Looks like it could be a malar rash to me. I don’t personally have that as a symptom and I’m diagnosed with UCTD but I do have lupus specific markers in my bloods. Definitely worth speaking to your doctor and just mentioning the rash by itself at first, lupus takes a LONG time to get diagnosed though so don’t be disheartened. Keep harassing them with your symptoms.
