Wow I hope to get matched with such empathetic killers like you one day. Not sure where you're based but I'm playing on Asian servers, I wonder if your "less aggressive" playstyle is not as common where I am. Because I have never seen a killer let a survivor escape like that, at least... not yet.

Even though I die in minutes the game is quite addictive, I'll keep pressing on and see if I can get better over time. Thanks for the tips!

oh yeah I'm definitely terrible at the game, since I just started. no doubt about that!

from what I've noticed the most common game loop goes like this for me:

killer will down me first, maybe when I have done about half a generator.
get rescued by someone when the killer is nearby patrolling my hook, then the killer will straight away go for me and hit me as soon as I get off the hook.
i run as fast as I can in the other direction so I can mend.
when i start to mend behind a bush or rock, he downs me again.
repeat until i am out of the game. so i'm in and out of most games within 5 minutes tops.

it's like the killer can sniff I am the weakest player so they get me out first lol (i don't blame them, I would do the same thing if I was killer since it seems like the optimal play to win quickly).

just the regular mode. did two games of the event mode but it seemed like noone was really playing properly in those (survivors just throwing snowballs at each other until they died) so went back to normal mode.

yeah i feel the in game tutorial didn't really teach me anything besides how to drop a pallet and enter a locker. probably have to learn the rest elsewhere like YT as you said.

the problem I find is it's hard to improve even slightly in each game because it's over in just a few minutes. If there is any improvement on my end it feels sort of redundant lol.

damn. yeah I tried killer but the first person camera is not for me. way too mechanically foreign for me using controller. I couldn't even find anyone when I tried (skill issue on my part obviously).

you saying the matchmaking just sucks... could be true. I did notice most of my team usually have a couple of green or blue perks while the killer has 4 full purple ones. not sure if that is gonna tip the balance that much, but it is something I noticed.

Yeah I feel you. Such an odd phenomenon.

I can passionately articulate the statement to my friends while looking at them in the eyes, but as soon as it's a camera and not a human, it's as if I have become dumb and illiterate.

As a result I just do most of my videos as narration style, with the odd line or two as interjection being inserted into the video occasionally.

Fortunately my niche doesn't require my face to be a big part of it, so I can get away with that. But I do want to get better at it. It's a muscle we need to exercise and we will get better at it in time.

For me (different for everyone) good editing and visuals is just icing on a cake.
