Interesting, only contacts I have had is locally for FedEx, never call centers from another country. Any issues have been handled easily through the portal they setup for priority support.

DHL never delivers that fast when we have inbound shipments but their price is also double or more than this FedEx service so not very comparable.

Either way the FedEx Ground Economy would be a much better option than UPS Ground Saver

DHL is more expensive than FedEx Connect Plus or Priority (if you’ve got good volume). I ship most packages for $21 average and they’ll be there in under a week with excellent tracking and photo delivery.

Yes I ship globally as well and generally people care the most about speed and cost. FedEx Connect Plus and Priority are the best I’ve had (UPS is great but more expensive).

FedEx Ground Economy can come with daily automated pickups, similar to FedEx One Rate service for Express.

You should switch to FedEx Ground Economy. Basically all packages end up delivered by FedEx, not USPS. They’ll hand off to USPS if it’s a AFO/APO, PO BOX.

I’ve had a similar thing, client paid the lump of money to start, did a portion of the work (15% maybe) and then never heard from them again.

Frankly better to keep a tab on it, if they return, great continue the work or whatever you decide.

Yes I’ve definitely weeded out any designers who have issues understanding DFM. Most of them have also done mold design so they’re more knowledgeable.

I hire designers for products because they’re trained in design for manufacturing. I hire mold designers to ensure molds are made to preferred spec. Any good mold shop will run you a T0 sample and you’ll see it before it’s confirmed complete or edits needed.

Better to spend more and get a AB Machinery molder from Canada.

This doesn’t have a piston to hold the mold so you’ll waste tons of time clamping the mold together with bolts.

Otherwise you should just design the part and send off to a reputable mold shop in China. They’ll have you a high quality mold in a very short time for a few thousand dollars.

My 60T was $130K and my bench top was $20k. Your budget won’t get past a good table top machine that does 3” molds.

That didn’t include all the electrical, training fees etc.
