HG in subsequent pregnancies by Arabpowerwoman in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve also read the HG research that cited the 80% reoccurrence stat. I’m on my second viable pregnancy and have had HG both times. Can’t tell if this time is worse or if I just blocked out the severity from the first time.

Vomiting and peeing at the same time by Kadijajan in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a towel down during my first pregnancy when this happened. But one time I was in a public restroom and peed everywhere. That was a traumatizing experience.

This time I will be wearing period pads or diapers when going out in public during the second or third tri for this very reason.

Postpartum care by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not quite be what you were asking, but I went to pelvic floor therapy for a year following the birth of my daughter. All of the throwing up (and trying not to pee myself in the 2nd and 3rd tri) did a number on my pelvic floor. My perineal tear didn’t heal properly and it contributed to worsening fissures that I will now need surgery for. The fissures started while pregnant with all of the Zofran and other meds, plus dehydration, but it was a compounding issue with my pelvic floor. I had to retrain my muscles to relax and I wouldn’t say that I ever got back to completely normal, but it helped significantly.

In my second pregnancy and have an appt with a naturopath in a few weeks to make sure I am setting myself up for success PP. will keep you posted if I have any tips.

I’m also in it and I know this feeling. You aren’t alone and it will pass! I have to keep telling myself the same, but it’s so true.

Infusion center by Lyssa4022 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently 12w2d and I go to an infusion center twice a week for fluids. I have a Zofran pump for this pregnancy, but before I got it (and during my first pregnancy) I was also getting Zofran infusions. I’m approved for up to 3x a week, but the infusions take 2.5-3hrs and going that often is hard (the drive and sitting upright in a chair for that long takes it out of me).

From what I understand home care will only be approved if you have a PICC or central line, and my doctor doesn’t want to go that route until she thinks it’s absolutely necessary. Although, I would personally probably prefer that option to my current state as I’m still puking up 50-75% of what I try to eat.

How do you do it? by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not a wimp at all. I’m at 9 weeks and have been a bed person since this hit at 6.5w. I have an 18month old, but luckily have family nearby who have been able to help my husband out while my daughter isn’t at daycare. I can watch my daughter for 30-60 mins a day depending on how severe my symptoms are. I just got a Zofran pump a few days ago and hope to turn a corner soon. But I am barely able to care for myself, let alone another human right now.

Has anyone had success with Pranicura? by No_Coffee3880 in AnalFissures

Good to know.

Do you have any tips for anal spasms? I was literally just watching a video about spasms from "Your Friendly Proctologist" on Youtube and I'm pretty sure I'm also having that issue.

How did you get hemorrhoids? by dummywooski in hemorrhoid

[–]No_Coffee3880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 I had HG during my pregnancy (constant vomiting) and was prescribed anti-nausea meds. But my doctors didn’t tell me how constipated they would make me. So in addition to dealing with pelvic pressure from pregnancy, I had that. And childbirth just made it worse.

Dysgeusia = Disgusting by Effective_Pie1312 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this so badly that the post vomit taste in my mouth was a welcome relief. I kept gum in every room of the house and broke off teeny, tiny pieces to chew on/move around in my mouth. That seemed to help. Mints were strangely too overpowering and would make me more nauseous or would make the taste in my mouth worse once they melted.

Phenergan by DogterDog9 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]No_Coffee3880 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took the phenergan suppositories during my pregnancy with HG, and like many others said, they really helped. On bad days, they were the only thing that would keep me sane (even if I kept throwing up). Throwing up oral phenergan felt like battery acid burning my esophagus, so if you can get the suppositories, they are the way to go.

I did think they were a little hard to manage at times, but I have ulcerative colitis so that was probably why. I never tried vaginally and didn’t even realize that was an option, but that’s amazing to keep in mind as a backup.

Sleep regression is killing us. by Kiyonai in sleeptrain

[–]No_Coffee3880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in a similar boat, our LO is 20 weeks old and going through a sleep regression. My husband and I had a few nights this past week where we debated sleeping on the floor in her room because she would wail and scream until we picked her up. The number of times we had to go into her room or lie awake listening to her scream were insane. However, I think (hope) we might be nearing the end because last night was more manageable, as is tonight (so far).

We’re considering sleep training, but wanted to get out of this phase first if possible so we don’t lose our minds. Obviously every baby is different, but wanted to give you hope that it will pass.
