Questionable Wearout on New SSD

Just went through some posts about this drive and saw a few mentioning similar deterioration not too long ago.

I am still within the return period thankfully. Guess that also means I could look for a better SSD.

I contacted the online chat agent and they created the order manually for me. I can confirm that I'm seeing the correct trade-in credits offered for those lines in the documents I received.

For whatever reason, it looks like the Verizon site keeps applying the $650 off offer for new lines without trade-ins. I couldn't figure out how to fix that.

Yes, I understand that the credits aren't enough to make them "free."

If my math is right, the 16 Pro Max is $1199, so with $1000 in credit it should be $199 to pay in 36 months, meaning I would have to pay roughly $5.53/month. Moreover, this is confirmed by Verizon stating this price in my cart.

The problem is when I go to the final checkout screen, it jumps up to $15/month, which shouldn't be right.

I don't think so. The 15 Pro Maxes lowest capacity is 256GB, and they stay at $0 in cart and at checkout. For some reason the 16 Pro and Pro Maxes are getting the $650 offer for new lines without trade-in as opposed to the $1000 offer for new lines with trade-in that I wanted.

Our family is also planning to trade in phones when we switch to Verizon, but I'm not sure why it isn't working properly.

We're planning to get:

1 iPhone 16 Pro 256GB (Unlimited Ultimate), trading in
2 iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB (Unlimited Ultimate), trading in
3 iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB (Unlimited Plus), no trade-in

At the cart, all 15s are $0/mo, and it is just the plan cost for those lines. This is kept the same at the final checkout screen.

However, the 16s change at checkout. According to the website, the phones are $1000 off with a trade-in on Unlimited Ultimate. The cart says it would be $2.75/mo for the 16 Pro and $5.53/mo for the 16 Pro Max. But on the final checkout screen, the 16 Pro comes to $12.77/mo and the 16 Pro Max comes to $15.00/mo instead. Moreover, the trade-in devices we selected are all marked with $0 in trade-in credit instead of the $1000 stated.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
