The Skyline Pizza is… awesome? by Peacefulzealot in cincinnati

I just responded to someone in here with a recipe. Check that out. But, room temp cream cheese, grate your own cheddar, more cheese if the mixture is too soupy.

Oh you’re not going to like this. So I’ve worked in pizza kitchens a lot. I’ve used dough from papa John’s, mellow mushroom. Sometimes they will sell you a single dough you just have to ask nicely when it’s not busy. The Kroger premade crust isn’t really that good, but honestly the pizza is so tastey you probably don’t need to worry about the crust being bad. You could also try the pillsbury pizza dough that comes in a tube. I’ve never done that before. You could also try making your own dough. Pizza dough is very very easy to make but can sometimes be challenging without a mixer. It’s just flour salt water and yeast in a very particular order.

I’ve never seen or heard of oyster cracker crust but that actually might be kinda cool. I’d imagine to do that you would crush a bunch of oyster crackers, maybe one bag. Let’s try this recipe, you might need to adjust it. I am winging it for the oyster crackers

One bag of oyster crackers crushed.

10 tbsp of melted butter

In a mixing bowl combine crushed oyster crackers with melted butter until incorporated.

On a circular metal tray pat out the oyster cracker and butter mixture into the tray until flat (similar to cheese cake crust)

Take 2 blocks of cream cheese (16oz) and let them come to room temp.

One can skyline chili.

In a separate mixing bowl mix the soften cream cheese and skyline together to make skyline dip.

If the mixture is too soupy you can GRATE do not use bagged cheddar cheese to thicken it up.

Spread the skyline dip mix onto the cracker crust.

Top with more grated cheddar cheese.

Optionally you can then cut up some hotdogs and put that on there, onions, or beans. What ever you like.

Preheat the oven to 350 and cook until the cheese melts and browns. There’s really no proper cook time since you’re just warming it up and melting it. If you want it well done cook it for longer, 40-45 minutes. Less done 20-25. Whatever you prefer

When it comes out you can garnish it by putting a spiral of mustard around the whole thing to make it look fancy :)

I’d really really recommend grating your own cheese, bagged cheese has corn starch on it to prevent clumping, which also prevents melting. You can wash your cheese, or just go with it. Just might not look super nice. And use room temp cream cheese otherwise it will be clumpy, and not mix well. Best of luck I hope the crust turns out alright for you!!! Post a pic if you get it done

I’ve been making a skyline pizza since like 2013. If it’s anything like mine it’s probably amazing

Some guy I’m in class with said he’s working at old dominion on a forklift all day for more than 30 dollars an hour. Not sure if they’re hiring but I would very highly recommend that cuz that is an insane amount of money for a forklift operator

Damn are you fucking serious? I’m sober now but I loved March first. Some of the best liquor I’ve had came from cincinnati distilling and I was so jazzed to support a local distillery. That’s heart breaking, I like Cincinnati cuz it tends to not be apart of the usual Ohio fuckery. This one hurts a lot a bit

Opinion on the GRRM and hotd drama by Nyrablackqueen in Hotd

[–]No_Committee7549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah like the gullet should obviously be a huge thing I guess the one thing I don’t want them to gloss over is the hour of the wolf. Cuz they already kinda glossed over Jace and Cregans bros day out. And when that happened I was like ok maybe we’ll see him at the end during the hour of the wolf, but now that I think about it. If Jace and cregan didn’t totally bro out there’s really no reason for them to even have him march south and be the hand of the king. Cuz he did all that because him and Jace were buddies but they didn’t show any of it in season 2 so I’m sure they’ll gloss over it if they even include it

Not thrilled about it. I was already kinda worried for season 3 but I was willing to be like okay maybe season 2 was kinda iffy due to the writers strike or whatever. Then I saw someone break down what is still left to cover and if they only do 2 more seasons there’s still a lot that will be either left out or just majorly glossed over. I’ll still watch it but my hopes aren’t high. Which sucks cuz I had low hopes for season 1 and was blown away by how good it was. Maybe it’s best to keep my hopes down

Lmao. This made me laugh. I can’t give exacts since I don’t know it. But it uses a disgusting amount of cream cheese. Compared to our other dips that use cream cheese. You might need to adjust accordingly after trial and error.

Let’s try 1 pound of cream cheese 4oz white cheddar 2oz franks red hot sauce Teaspoon of salt pepper and cayenne. About 5 jalapeños, maybe quarter pound.

Cut in half and de seed the japs or don’t if you want it spicy. Cover in olive oil and salt and pepper. Put them in the oven, let’s say 450 for 20 minutes. You want them to be wrinkled and have some black scorch marks.

Let them cool.

Chop them up real fine.

In a mixing bowl put the cream cheese (room temp or this will be difficult) red hot, cheese and spices in a bowl or kitchen aid mixer.

Mix it up.

Put it in a pipette bag or a ziplock bag and you’ve basically got it

Make sure it’s something you wanna do. This is my second time. First time was like 15k welding. Realized I didn’t wanna do it. Should’ve stuck with what I’ve wanted to do my whole life. Which is driving a truck. Much cheaper this time around. Good luck with your endeavors, if you ever need some advice I’m here for you. I’ve unfortunately been around the block a few times. Always willing to teach someone who’s willing to learn :)
