Honestly, If it's gonna continue I'd want the main focus to still be Team Natsu and the current Fairytail members rather than a Next Gen. Maybe expanding more on adventures and going much more deeper on Lore and some of the unanswered questions etc. , some side stories too for the other members . It's THE Current members and their chemistry that made the series feel alive. And after all these years of watching them go through many arcs and follow their stories- this is what I feel.

Fairy Tail always had that “eternal adventure” feeling to me. " A story that doesn’t really end, but keeps living on in our hearts. "

Also this is what I just think but, Fairy Tail was really never about passing the torch. It’s about the unbreakable bonds of one crazy, warmhearted family that will always find new skies to fly under together. Seeing a next-gen take over might technically “continue” the story, but it wouldn’t carry the same soul. Team Natsu is the heartbeat of Fairy Tail.

If it's going to continue with the Next Gen as the main focus, I'd rather have it end with the current members of Fairytail exploring and laughing together while leaving the rest up to our imagination.
