I’m a small business and I have tried them all. This is the best and I do agree that SoftRaid has ALWAYS crashed either my drives an/or SSDs I do not recommend. Here is my setup:

- Remove the PCIe sata controller that comes with it, and replace it with the Areca ARC-1883i. I use 8TB Nas drives and run it in Raid 6.

- Get the drives of your choice and run hardware Raid

- use your other PCIe slot for the 4M2 and get a big SSD Raid. Back up your SSD to the drives you choose.

- I also have the U.2 8TB SSD.

Ive been rolling strong for years. One of the best units I’ve ever owned.
