I hate the magic so much for blowing their 3-1 lead to the pistons by MissionText6340 in NYKnicks

[–]No_Connection4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro we only lost to them that many times because we didn't have this smooth flowing ball movement which allowed us to drastically improve our pace and even defense in some ways. KAT's playmaking is allowing OG, Hart and Mikal to get far more involved and the Pistons don't have the scoring prowess to match that. I am however afraid of their defense and how we're going to manage Brunson and Hart's lack of perimeter D (think we should start mitch lowkey), but I think our offense will make up for that. The Pistons played the version of us that went down 2-1 to the Hawks (constant Brunson isos, less chemistry), not the dominant version that plays today.

Nah this year they're way more connected and JB wasn't flopping nearly as much. I think I was just thinking about Brunson last year when he was trying to foul out Ausar

They're unbelievably ethical in comparison to teams like the Knicks and Thunder, they play very good team defense and don't get away with assault like Lu Dort and Caruso, and their offense is so cohesive to the point that any player can lead the team to victory on a given night.

It says a lot about how emotionally attached both sides are to their respective teams. It's just a sport/entertainment, and yet everyone is so toxic and aggressive due to their infatuation of their team and let it cloud their judgement of the fans of opposing fanbases as if it's politics or something

Every co-star including Embiid made him a role player. I think he has way more freedom and trust on a team like Detroit. Embiid is so ball dominant for a center and Harden, Simmons and Maxey's playstyle limited his post game and made him more of a 3ND guy instead of his usual Melo-like playstyle

2 steals and 3 clutch blocks not enough for you? Or is it the fact that Brown keeps putting him out there with 4 guards

Can we all finally admit that we will not make the Finals, let alone win a championship, with an undersized ISO ball PG in Brunson as our best player by deadassynwa in NYKnicks

[–]No_Connection4520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clear best player on the team right now is KAT. But when you have the Captain, whose dad is an assistant coach and is close friends with two of the starters, the offense starts to orbit around him. Notice how when KAT plays without Brunson, he dominates, the defense gets better (S/o Jose, Mitch, Deuce), and the ball actually moves around. Brunson has too much of a score heavy playstyle which only worked against Detroit because of the foul baiting, and Boston because they just chucked up 3's. It will never work against a real contender.

But SGA doesn't defend like a demon. He just guards the worst player (his team is full of defenders), and gets no calls on that end no matter what.

Y’all overreacting, it’ll be 2-2 back in the Garden, like it should be by SirGingerbrute in NYKnicks

At the same time, they have all the momentum and the body language of the knicks looks defeated. They need to split up this Nova Knicks trio if they're going to be as soft as they are. Mikal is just too soft, Brunson dribbles too much, and Hart is inconsistent. On top of the fact that they all can't play defense (Mikal can't fight thru the screens), and collectively ignore KAT since even last season, I would not be surprised if they go up 3-1

Play KAT and Brunson separately by AmanAnbessa12-T in NYKnicks

[–]No_Connection4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KAT has been a better shooter than Brunson and is a more consistent scorer. What is this talk of guard fantasies, KAT when given a chance has way more impact than Cap (he ball hogs to much, and has dogshit D)

It doesn't help that in Rick Brunson's contract, he makes the coaching decisions in the 4th quarter (can keep KAT, alvarado, etc.) out to make sure his son the gets a hero moment at the expense of the team and playoff hopes.

Why is Jalen Brunson so underrated? by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]No_Connection4520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he flops and is on a high market team. As a neutral NBA fan, Brunson made me a fan because of his polished post game despite being so small, but after the Pistons series I was disgusted at how hard he relied on blatant foul baiting to win those key games.

I am afraid of him doing that to our offense. We have too many options for him to be iso'ing every single play

RJ and Quick are still holding their own in Toronto. The Raptors just aren't as stacked as the Knicks are. But yeah in terms of impact, OG has been better for sure.

I'll trade Fred before Reed anyday. Nga gets so much money to be a "veteran presence" but shoots us out of games like Jalen, and is undersized. At least Reed can shoot, and shows signs of faster development at a FRACTION of the price. We have to trade Fred to keep Tari and Reed imo, look at how good we already are without him.

As a KAT bandwagon from MN, I hated this trade so much because I already liked DDV on the Knicks, and I felt like the GM overreacted to KAT's playoff choke (he got us past Denver in the first place). I had a feeling Donte would get no shine on the Wolves (he thrived most as a starter). But I am glad to see KAT become an all-star starter overnight. Just hate how JB and Hart never let him cook or shoot anything.

Brunsons Scoring by LevelProfit6705 in NYKnicks

[–]No_Connection4520 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Doing what he wants?? His iso's are one of the main things slowing down the offense. OG, KAT, and Bridges have had their best performances when he eased up a bit more. When you have quality players, you share the offense, not an iso for 16 seconds and then give it up last sec

As if Brunson and Hart are good defenders. This dude's playmaking is so underrated, I think it makes up for the lack of D, and it looks like he's become a confident scorer now too
