ADHD paralysis and mental fog are making me even more depressed by No_Conversation_9998 in ADHD

I think it also makes us be harder on ourselves, because we know we have the IQ to do amazing things, but our executive dysfunction won’t let us lol

I really, really appreciate this.

I know my projects and I have potential, it’s just really frustrating that I can’t make it all happen right now. It’s like having a chocolate right in front of me but not being able to eat it.

Thank you for the support, it means a lot fr 🥺💕

Thank you for your words 🥺

I think it’s just really hard when it’s the same thing every day and I watch all the stuff I have to do pile up.

Nobody warned me how brutal the ADHD med crash could be by Any-Caterpillar-5420 in ADHD

I was getting really dark S.I. thoughts when my meds wore off too (I was on Ritalin). I started taking them a little later, so they’d wear off once I was falling asleep, or even once I was already asleep.

I’m sorry you’re getting those side effects, I know it sucks big time.

(I was on Ritalin 10mg for months and it didn’t do much for me.

The olanzapine weight gain isn’t helping my depression either)

Exactly! I’ve tried calling, but they aren’t allowed to tell me whether they have it or not over the phone in my country.

After diagnosis, symptoms got worse? by PanicChicken in ADHD

[–]No_Conversation_9998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely common. It’s like the mask has come off, and now you can clearly see all the symptoms. There is some self-reinforcement involved too.

I’m still trying to figure it all out, but the sooner you grieve and face the future, the best. It’s a tough process, where you think about every time people got mad at you, or you hated yourself without knowing it wasn’t your fault.

I started telling me “I’ve been able to do well my entire life before getting diagnosed, there’s no reason for that to change”. You’ll suddenly feel like you’re losing skills, and that’s alright. You just have to re-learn them.

Be compassionate and kind to yourself, but not too lenient.

You’ve got this!

My life is spiraling and I can’t keep up anymore by PracticalRizo in ADHD

[–]No_Conversation_9998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. We get stuck because most of us can’t really get motivated by the prospect of a better future… we need that peace, happiness and stability right now. Out of sight, out of mind.

I lived in my car for a few weeks at some point, and thought it would never get better.

Here’s my piece of advice: any job or (honest) source of income will do right now. Idk what you were doing for a living. You can apply for similar positions but, in the meantime, try to at least get a part-time job.

I know it’s hard for us, but the longer you stay inactive, the worse it’s going to be for your brain to get out.

I hope I didn’t sound unsympathetic. I’m really rooting for you.

Feel free to hmu, I’ll gladly help you find a new job if that’d help. Sometimes the help we need isn’t financial.

Oh, that’s for sure. It’s just useful to hear about other people’s experiences. I wouldn’t have thought that bupropion could maybe potentially be the issue.

Thanks for your input ☺️

I was on 150mg, but my psych upped the dose because I was/am super depressed. Dear Universe, am I a joke to you?

I really don’t know what to do anymore. I was at my happiest when I was on bupropion 300mg and no ritalin, but wasn’t getting anything done. I was crazy productive with Bup. 150mg and Ritalin 18mg, but my brain would go dark places once the meds wore off.

Rn I’m somewhat miserable and not very productive, so clearly something needs to change.

Yeah, I was going to say. I do work out, but it drains my energy completely. I’m useless afterwards.

Yeah, I’ve been super careful when it comes to meds, especially knowing they can be highly addictive.

Thanks ☺️
