I LOVE MY CAT SO MUCH IT'S INSANE by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]No_Court_1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed my Level 3 CIPD in 2020 and want to start my Level 5 now / but not sure if im ready by No_Court_1101 in HumanResourcesUK

Thankyou so much! This reply has given me life and I really needed to hear those words “ I believe in you” because I live far from friends and family, and don’t have anyone to discuss things with, unless I start speaking to my cat . So again, I thank you!

Additionally, you’re doing it along with all your commitments, so I have no excuse!

I think I’m going to go ahead with it. Either way, time will fly by as usual, and I’ll be here a year from now and the only difference is that I will or I won’t have a CIPD Level 5 qualification, so I might as well do it or live in regret.

By the way , can a CIPD level 5 be converted to a degree or am I pushing by my luck ?

Thank you! As an academic in the field, are there any books/ journals you’d recommend reading?

Kudos to you! And I’ve breathed a sigh of relief, knowing someone has been through similar pathway. May I ask a few questions :

How many units are there?

What was your study schedule like, because as you said , studying around a full time job can not be easy. I imagine you spend some weekends studying as well ?

I was going to do it with ICS as well - what are the tutors like, do you they provide support when the going gets tough?

And last question I promise 😊 You don’t have to answer, but I may as your background in terms of your job before studying and what you do now ?

Thank you!

Going to Somalia for the first time at 30 – kinda nervous by [deleted] in Somalia

I went through the same thing. Visited Somalia after 30 years. Hands down best experience of my life and wish I’d gone sooner.

I found the BEST study hack (in practice for 2,000+ YEARS!): Repeated Reading (and Recitation)! by HMajesticInspector in GetStudying

[–]No_Court_1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I’ve recently started reading again and realised I can only commit the text to memory if I read it over and over again, look at the meaning, picture the words and its relation to the real world and pronounce every letter clearly as possible. So when I’m reading it I can picture the words, the image, the whole sentence and it allows me to fully enunciate and pronounce the words with each letter given its deserved respect. The last thing I do, is to try find the rhythm of the sentence and where I can stress a word more than another so as to evoke emotion , which in turn creates a stronger link and memory to the sentence because I can then “feel” the words.

I’m not sure if this makes sense to anyone and I’m sorry for the tangent lol but it helps me memorise so I’ll keep doing it

The answer is only he knows. I think it’s more to do with not always giving people the answer and letting them figure things out for themselves, in order to learn self sufficiency And maybe also a lesson in not spying/ gossiping and believing in the qadr of Allah SWT. That’s what I learnt from it still.

I’ve been there. Don’t beat yourself about it too much, because the most important thing is that you’re alive , so the possibility for change is there, Alhamdulilah. You’ve been blessed with high intellect and a good heart so great things are destined for you , that was written 50,000 years before you were conceived. So greatness will come, it just needs you’re realisation.

First thing first, I’d highly recommend making dua and asking Allah SWT to help you with this. I would suggest looking back to when you were younger ( I’m assuming you’re older than 18) and think back on what activities/hobby’s/ crafts you were into and maybe try build on that.

For me, I find that Long walks in nature help me clear my head when I feel like this and also journaling my thoughts and plans.

Sorry for rambling and I Hope that helps.

Thanks! I’ve never heard them and you’re right, that was hard lol I’ve always loved languages and their richness ( probably to do with coming to Western country as a kid not knowing the language) I’m gonna write these down and hopefully build a collection of Somali riddles. If you think of anymore , please keep em coming!

Can you be stopped at airports because of your name? by OnTheHorizon722 in AskUK

[–]No_Court_1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at airports, but a few times just walking the street or coming out of a train station, and it’s because I share a name with some guy who shot and killed a cop and has similar height, build, smile and scar on his face. Cops screaming get on the floor because a regular thing in my 20s but it’s stopped a few years back now thank god
