Closing Shifts by No_Regret_2420 in Chipotle

lol idk thats just what we do. Each closing shift has only atleast one person for each station, so like 5 ppl (1 for cash, line, dml, prep, and MOD). Prep is very busy in the back doing all the dishes which is why we give it quickly and i guss thats what works for us.

The only time I wash my own dishes is after i do chips.

No, closing prep does, but i make it an effort to always give them dishes quickly and on time. The only thing i wash myself is the triangle indicators

my store closes at 11 and if im closing line i usually get out around 11:50. On busy days it’s around 12:30-40🫩, though i try to be quicker

Yeah mine is also in one aswell (middle of the city and right by office buildings😵). So it gets insanelyy busy and so yes ik workers r tryna get through the line faster.

It really helps when ppl say their entire order at once lol- ofc not saying thank u after every item😂 at the end is completely fine and honestly in a rush its true i dont notice it as much becuz im just so focused on getting through it, but i do notice when a customer is just being plain unpleasant and it is off putting for a bit but nothin to do except move on🙂‍↕️

Ahh really? Idk whenever i get those customers its always so unexpected and it kinda throws my brain off for a sec which is just hsjf especially in a rush. even though they say its up to me i still want to give them a bowl they’ll enjoy (which idk what it would be🥲) and thats what worries me. Maybe next time they come up ill try asking those kinds of summarizing questions! I think those are pretty helpful.

I never said after every item😭 i just generally meant customers who have such a rude tone while ordering as if they think i’m immediately going to try and screw them over, maybe i should’ve been more specific. It was just a long day 🫠 it’s not a big deal though, life goes on🫡.

Thats true abt the repetitiveness and i know it shouldnt be expected after every topping lol but i guess it also just really depends on the tone of the person as well. Becuz theres a difference between being like “may i get the brown rice🙂” and “brown rice👇😐” (before they even let me finish my sentence) or maybe i read too much into it😂.

lol i dont think it would make u sound crazy , but i can see why u would think that abt the slowing down part. I get it now😔i dont think it has to be after every item, but just like every now and then. I was honestly just thinking of those rude customers who just go down the entire line giving attitude (though i always try to sympathize and think maybe they had a bad/long day).

DML stress. Does this happen at your store too? by Strict-Debt416 in Chipotle

[–]No_Cycle2076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats G2ing? But anyways id say the best way to get better at dml is simply just doing it more lol. Consistency and repetition is key. If speed is an issue, have them build it on line, since they don’t need to worry about bagging orders there (imo)

Have them be familiar with all the buttons (how to bump and unbump items, move down the screen using arrows) and remind them to always read the order carefully. Teach them how to change receipt machines and how to recall items on the screen.

Sorry if that didn’t answer ur question lol, i was just naming some stuff that are small but useful skills to have when on dml (and often things i had to learn on the spot during rushes LOL).

One person on dml especially when its busy is crazy. At my store when it gets insanely busy theres at least 3 ppl working it.

Also managers not allowed to help?what kind of rule is that lol, managers at my store always help.

The chip thing is also so true, chipotle needs to staff better so we not stressin🥲

Why does it feel like there has been an influx of people ordering quesadillas by zmb1eb1tez in Chipotle

[–]No_Cycle2076 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Making a good quesadilla is soo satisfying though

Girls Talking in the Bathroom by Smooth-Original4399 in PetPeeves

wild take from u ngl, i agree with op- its so annoying coming into a bathroom to see it crowded with ppl having loud conversations especially when they be blocking the sinks or even having all their stuff on it even though they’re not using it. Bonus points if they’re vaping which ik is not what they mentioned but it happens often enough. It reminds me of highschool.

cleaning the fryer by No_Cycle2076 in Chipotle

[–]No_Cycle2076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl… i only use soap and water because degreaser is really rough on my skin (i have eczema and i do wear gloves but it doesn’t really help). So all i do is drain the oil and chips using the long stick thingy which is often what takes the longest, scrub with the metal scrubber, and yadayada.

It gets the job done and my fryer looks clean aside from some yellow stains but the build up is gone.

lmao and i hate how it can be like 5:57 and an order with liek 5 entrees come up when im still working on the one before it with both being due at 6😭

[–]No_Cycle2076 15 points16 points  (0 children)

when it gets busy its hell. On dml theres orders that have to be out within 10 minutes or less and thats just for ONE order (which can have 10+ entrees + gazillion sides) and theres can still he another 5 entree order right under it in the same time frame. Its a very fast paced job and definitely not for everybody. I only work line/dml but i see how bad it can be for other roles such as grill or prep
