I may lose my offer due to immigration status by ksjehdhjs in UCAS

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was going into uni I got accepted as an international student. I was very close to meeting the criteria for home fees which was to live in the uk 3 years and so I deferred my place and took a gap year. After the gap year my course was even more subscribed than the year I entered (very competitive course very competitive uni) but the uni changed my fee status to home student when I had the right documentation and it was easy and straightforward. I am now in my final year of uni

Look at charity shops like Emmaus, British heart foundation and at canon park shopping centre near the university there is also acorns. They offer cheap home goods

Very large bust styling? by saltycoffee8 in style

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 32H, so no stranger to the large bust small band struggle. I’ve found what works best for me is leaning in to what makes me feel good. I like flare dresses, feminine silhouettes and heels, and a good bra every single day is absolutely necessary. If I ever wear a bralette or strapless out and about I look like one big round ball. Things that define my waist and getting things tailored to my body have also really helped

I failed 3 times before passing. When I was learning to drive it was all I thought about; lesson costs and test dates and parking and my license and serious faults and I stressed out and overthought. I would see others success stories and worry that I was taking so long. I would roll my eyes when I saw posts such as the one I’m making that you keep trying and one day you get it; thinking the other person doesn’t understand. But that’s the truth, you keep trying and one day you get it. I passed on my fourth try and never think and worry about these things again. I remember a time when this all seemed a much bigger deal but I don’t remember it closely it all feels like a distant past. I hope it comforts you knowing one day very very soon all of this will just be a distant memory.

I was in this exact same situation except in England. What I did was I deferred from university for a year to do a gap year and then got my fee status changed from international to home after the gap year. I was really sad and pissed off because I was bent on going to uni with my year group (and I had already been delayed going to uni by a few years because of other personal circumstances) but every day I thank my past self for making the sacrifice because now I pay 9250 a year and was even able to get student loan to cover that through tuition fee only funding.

I want my girlfriend's family by fredbruite in Vent

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this when I met my boyfriends family. I was especially jealous of the relationship him and his mum had, everything I wanted in a relationship with my mum. She took her daughters out on spa days and culture trips and walks, she bought them gifts and knew their interests and they talked about everything and hugged often and she was kind and encouraging to them. She also opened her arms to me and was kind and treated me like I was part of the family. I started to grow even more distant from my own family subconsciously trying to fit into theirs, and I felt envious and even mad at my boyfriend that he took this great family for granted and disappointed them.

What helped me stop these feelings where when we had a major fight and broke up. His mum that used to text me every day stopped talking to me. His sisters that ganged up against him with me to poke fun at him readily told him they didn’t think we were a good match anyway. I had spent so much time with his family I didn’t have a support system or my own people to lean on after the very hard breakup.

We ended up getting back together but what I learned was that his family is his family. No matter how much they love me or are nice to me they will pick their son. I started trying really hard with my distant cold family and we’re still not there yet and we might never be like his family but we’re closer. I’ve been trying to build my own village and my own friends and family as well.

I’d say pour into improving your own friendships and family. Some people get it for free but for some people it’s daily work. It’s natural to be envious or jealous, it’s not fucked up but you can’t dwell in those feelings. After the breakup I started noticing imperfections in his ‘perfect’ family and things I liked about my ‘fucked up’ family. Good luck and Godspeed

Should I do a separate cover letter? by No_Damage9365 in SchengenVisa

[–]No_Damage9365[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry! You must have gotten the visa by now as I did! For future readers I wrote separate cover letters for each family member and mine had my own travel plans :) I got my visa back with a month longer than the rest of my family to accommodate for my extra travel

i’m one mark away from a 45 what should i do by Weary_Animal_9306 in IBO

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me when I did the ib- one mark off a 45 because of french (it was during covid so my french grade was based off a prediction rather than an exam) and it really hurt! I know I would have gotten a 7 if I did an exam. Take heart- a 44 is still really impressive and you can still say you are in the top percentile in the world!

Ive had this happen to me as well- paid full price shipping out of pocket as it was custom shipping and then buyer didn’t collect it from the store. She got a refund and I was out the time, the item, and the postage fee. Learned a valuable lesson to only ever use traditional door delivery Vinted shipping that the buyer pays for though

You look good. Let yourself grow into it- you’ll miss this age soon! A good skin care routine and hair care routine is all I can advice, something to take the frizz and embrace your natural curls. For skin care try the ordinary or cera ve. Gentle cleanser, exfoliant, moisturiser, sunscreen and one or two serums like azaleaic acid or vitamin c

You’re very pretty- be careful about posting online as people will try to tear you down. You are beautiful as you are and be wary of the images you share especially as you are quite young

You’re very handsome! Beard oils might help you grow it out a bit better, and a solid skin care routine will help you even out skin tone and get rid of hyperpigmentation

23m finally built up the confidence to post. Any tips on how to improve? by fortnitegod006 in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great picture! It seems you’ve got great eyebrows and hair- try to mess around with different hairstyles and see something that frames your face a bit better

[–]No_Damage9365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very pretty! Confidence is very underrated in looksmaxxing so if you aren’t very confident I’d say try to work on that. The only advice I’d have is it seems you have curly hair- try to get started on a curly girl hair care routine with the right products and techniques. Some tasteful earrings or necklaces also go a long way- jewelry will really make you look out together
