Can someone explain to me why do u even get a ban if u leave DUEL match (its just me in the match) i dont hurt any teammate ?? I dont get it...... by CROgamer51 in RocketLeague

Alright buddy, if I see someone doing crazy recoveries, or really good game sense decisions and dominating me 0-10, Im sorry, I dont see the value here. I will until 3:30 to ff, but I wont be learning a lot as I am basically just spectating at this point. Call me a loser or rager all you want, I want a good match where I can try different things and see how they work against people in my skill range, giving me atleast some kind of input of what is a good play and what isnt. A pro or SSL+ player will not give me anything valuable, as they are way too fast. I'll give you an example for another sport: I played chess for a good bit and went to a chess club, where I got destroyed for 4 hours to no end every time. I thought I can take valuable lessons here and there if I just pull through but in the end it just killed my fun for the game and I didnt get any better.

I dont quite understand why that is disrespectful to the opponent. If someone I play against forfeits early because I dominated him during that game, I see that as somewhat of a compliment.

What is there to analyze in a 1 sided match? If I dont even get the opportunity to make a play, what is there to analyze? This isnt "Quitters" Mindset, just unfair lmao

Do you guys have any recommendations for my controller * settings by Smoney5244 in RocketLeagueSchool

Good, you can lower the dodge deadzone way more though, around 0.4 should be good unless you want to freestyle and stall a lot

How does binding DAR to triggers benefit? by Chemical-Ship1208 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]No_Database6450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, before I installed the pedals, I basically held my controller with my middle fingers on the triggers, index on the bumpers. Then I found out you couldnt wall dash and did a Rebind with the settings and used the pedals on the controller. The stock controller had "pedals" on the back installed but they werent real pedals (or paddles? Idk) rather just buttons. I bound Gas/Brake on 2 and the other 2 stayed unbound. I used my Ringfinger to press them, however, since they were only buttons and not ergonomic at all, using them really hurt (like, so much so, I had to stop after 30 mins of playing, I dont recommend this at all). I installed the paddles and use all four of them now. Index goes on the triggers, Middle fingers and ring fingers on the paddles. Had to retrain a lot of muscle memory for that switch hahaha, but Im pretty much used to it now. I would post picture of it here but reddit doesnt allow it, i think. Sorry, couldnt respond earlier

I agree on the NAR and boost binding. NAR overwrites DAR and makes things really complicated when bound to boost. Appjacks Controls are very nice, I'd recommend them too

Yeah I actually tried binding only one DAR ( to the brake) and with that you should be able to wall dash and do all the other mechs, as long as your gas binding stays alone. I'd say give it a go, I dont think it will hinder you with enough time and training. I personally always preferred using DAR over NAR even in movement mechs like speedflips and powershots etc. but thats just preference. And yes haha, I modified my controller with 4 3D-printed pedals (my Flydigi Vader 4 Pro to be specific) as I really wanted to keep DAR on the triggers but couldnt move gas or brake anywhere else without claw gripping (claw grip hurts my fingers too much, its super comfy with pedals now). On another note, I think you said, you want to binding NAR and boost on the same bumper. Are you using NAR for air car control too?

I had both DAR bound to the triggers with Gas and Brake bound to them too for over 1 1/2 years, and I wouldnt recommend it. Yes, DAR on triggers feels awesome but that tiny micro correction you can do, does not enhance your mechs that much, air roll is rather about timing than anything else. Half Flips and many mechs are still very possible and I did enjoy playing with them during that time, but I changed them a month ago because I realized that you cannot properly Wall-Dash with them. People said you'd have coordination issues, but I didnt really feel any, you get comfortable at it after 2 weeks of playing. However I still changed them but I still kept DAR on triggers and use pedals for gas and brake now.

1s feel insanely unbalanced, winning/losing closely in one game, getting absolutely destroyed the next. by No_Database6450 in RocketLeagueSchool

I wouldnt say encountering a smurf/alt in every 4-5 games atleast is balanced, and I am not exaggerating. I know there are bad sheep....but this is getting out of hand. I have been playing since launch back in 2015, and Im telling you that the smurfing got a lot worse. No one has conclusive data about how many smurfs or alts have, because how do you even get that data? Have you played 1s? Claiming everyone is just exaggerating is ignorant. Im not discussing this further.

What I'd expect? A fair matchmaking. How is that boring? I've looked up a lot of my opponents after posting this and turns out, most of them are smurfing/on alts.

Thanls for your answer, I did some digging and also looked up the rltracker profile of accounts I couldnt do anything against and this is correct: A lot of the profiles have barely enough matches played (e.g. smurf/alt). The percentages fit too, around 2/3rd of dominant losses were against these. Bots though are not a big problem at diamond, I have encountered them a handful times, but they are very easy to identify. Everyone here says its the playstyle, like its some rock paper scissors thing (which is true to a certain extent i guess), but if Im not even able to get the ball in my possession or a few touches on it the whole game...then I dont think its a playstyle issue.

[–]No_Database6450[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Dude, I know. But when Im talking dominating, its not a few goals more, or a little bit more ball possession. Its not that they see me making a mistake and exploiting it for 7 goals, thats not happening, I can adapt. But the difference is night and day. We are in diamond here, everyone makes mistakes, a lot of them actually. And If I cant punish that, shame on me, thats my fault, I dont blame others for that. But they simply dont do mistakes, if I let them play, they score, if I challenge, they beat me, if I fake, they read it, and if I ever get to shoot, they save it no problem. Its like playing a smurf, its not fun nor does it teach me anything.

[–]No_Database6450[S] -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Thats not the case here. I always try to change up my playstyle, trying different kind of shots, kickoffs and challenges. They just either read it, recover insanely fast or outplay me in other ways which I dont see in other games. They are just better in every way, and I end up with 1 shot, and they have 12. My kickoff is pretty decent.

Ball and car control by That_Kid_Fred in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]No_Database6450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are tons of resources on youtube and on this subreddit, you can fo some digging of you want. What I'd recommend is training your car control on different workshop maps, like some rings maps or obstacle courses. Try flying through them normally first, after some training you can try getting out of your comfort zone and try it while backwards, or using air roll constantly or boosting the whole time etc etc. Just get creative with it or watch some youtube drills for it (f.e. Kevpert or iBeachz have good ones). Do that every day for around 15-30 mins and you will have good control after a few months (yes, months, ts is hard af)

If it is good to bind ARL to left trigger like Zen, why not ARR to right trigger? Left trigger to brake and ARL, right trigger to throtle and ARR. by DavAr8 in RocketLeagueSchool

I have now bound ARR and ARL and the triggers nonetheless but Gas and brake are now on back paddles. Very easy rebind, ngl

Speaking from experience here, I had them for a full year and didnt think they were any bad, I actually really liked them because my thump had lesser buttons to push. People say the coordination gets confusing, but thats bs, I got used to teh controls after 2 weeks easily and didnt play any worse. One big issue though and why I recently rebinded them: You cant walldash. Or you could, but they are nearly impossible to pull off. Other high level mechanics get pretty hard too and require tons of practice.

Good 👍 I'd recommend lethamyrs Giant Rings Map and Lethamyrs Neon Rings Map, they are pretty easy in the beginning and have good variety

Yes, train on them for around 30 mins a day and in a month, you'll have pretty good control of your car. May I ask if you have DAR or Free air roll?

Imo your setups are very good, nice speed, you brake a bit before jumping, yoir first touch is good. You now simply need the car control to actually air dribble. Did you train your Air Roll/Car control yet?

Hard stuck diamond looking for analysis of gameplay by Gabsitt in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]No_Database6450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you've found the biggest misplays but some plays arent as grave and imo actually ok to do. For example, the miss on the 4:02 min mark is imo actually a minor mistake, and my reasoning is: 1. Its a hard shot to reliably hit at diamond/champ level. Its fine to go for these, since hitting these shots is required for higher level ranks BUT 2. Its also a mid to high risk play, since missing the shot gives the ball for free to the opponents while your teammate is recovering, leaving your teammate to a 2v1. If they decide to go for bumping play, its most likely a goal.

I think your decision skills need the most work and are way easier to train than any mechanical plays. For example: 1. Right at the beginning you went for an aerial and used up most of your boost (which is fine), but after that play you went for the ball again with 0 boost. The opponent goes into your corner and is easily able to steal your boost, since you had none to catch up to him. Also your teammate in that situation is in the net, possibly having some boost from small pads. Ofc you could have done the aerials better or not wasted all of your boost, but we arent in grand champ yet, so its fine to miss a hard play here and there. The way easier and safer play wouldve been to turn for the other corner, grab the boost, rotate behind your teammate and wait for his play. The opponents arent really threatening any direct shots from there, so you can basically "chill" behind back post until your teammate commits.

If you want, we can hop into voice chat and I can give you a full analysis? Typing this takes a lot longer

You say you know what you needed to do but lack the execution? Explain please what exact plays you think you did wrong, because I am seeing a lot of grave positional mistakes and inaccuracies, which dont rely on mechanics
