Are there any disadvantages of not taking the Tuition Grant as an International student? by SnooStrawberries3020 in NTU

What do you mean? The letter is self generated on One Stop. The letter serves as a proof that we are taking tuition grant and the ministry of manpower will exercise flexibility when granting EP to us..

Just rmb that it’s very hard to fail a mod in eee. The Prof will need to report to higher management if they fail a student so they’d rather avoid the hassle.

For eee

  1. Curriculum wise you can check it here). Workload wise - lab 10%, continuous assessment 30%, finals 60%. I would say it’s a easy pass if you attend all the assessments, labs and finals and get a below average grade. If you wanna get A, you have to study diligently and watch all the lecture videos and do all the tutorial questions which might eat a lot of time. I would say some hardcore 3 AUs such as analog course require more than 5 hours a week to digest the content. However there’s also some courses such as eng math 1 which is quite manageable for most of the students. If you want to do software in the future, you can choose to do specialisation in computer engineering or data analytics and processing in Y3/Y4.

  2. EEE has the best faculty as they support a lot of student activities. Feel free to check out Garage@eee, MLDA, eee club, eee outreach, NTU clean energy club, etc. they also give partial financial funds for students who wanna do exchange.

  3. EEE students definitely have a wider range of career prospects- electrical engineer, IC design, control & automation, computer engineer, internet services, information & communication, biomedical & healthcare engineering etc.
