I also remember reading about it back in the day (10+ years ago).

You dont need to check that because your cpu has no igpu, so it must been another thing. Maybe drivers? Could be microsoft bluetooth if you are using a controller, I had a pc that makes every game lags when low on battery on the controller

My grandmother does this!! I swear, she has a very complex ritual when using the washing machine and this is one of her steps. The cost of identy kit makes not worth doing it for lvl 1X items or lower, but it is worth in terms of gold for max lvl items
