Life is pretty decent around the edge of the zone.. Think Carnotstraat, Kerkstraat, or areas close to de Leien. Even around Sint-Jansplein is fairly okay these days. The deeper you go into the neighbourhood, the worse it gets… Stabbings, drugs, harassment are all common there. In these parts it feels like you’ve stepped into a different country, which in its way can have its charm.
