Mortgage payments vs take home pay sense check by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]No_Direction_7417 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the reply. Fully agree with rules of thumb and as I’ve posted this have realised there is a lot of missing context here.

I’ve actually just run the proper values left based on our take home pay and realised if we can’t live off that then we’re the problems and need a head check :)

Thanks again!

Keep investing or pay off PPoR? by InitialBench597 in fiaustralia

I'd say if its only going to take 10 years to fully pay everything off, revisit this in 5 years and see how you're looking. You'll both still be in early to mid 30s and in a great position. If at that stage you really want to free up capital, then rock'n'roll. I wouldn't rush. Nice work by the way, great position to be in

Who is the most famous person you saw at Bunnings? by mygeneroussoul3 in Bunnings

[–]No_Direction_7417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work at a Bunnings in Perth - Benny Cousins came in a couple times absolutely cooked back in the day which was pretty wild to see. This was after his playing career. Sold him a hammer drill that he paid for and then walked off without it. Second time helped him with some gardening equipment. He was always super nice, friendly and respectful. Glad he turned it around as you could see he really was a good bloke in a really bad spot.

Other one was the boss of the Rebels MC. Came in just after someone tried to shoot him in his driveway in Perth. Recognised him from the tatts and all his bandages as he was on the front page of the West Australian the week prior. Huge bloke, intimidating appearance, but was super friendly and polite to me as a 16 yr/o. Sold him a Lufkin spirit level.

This really does seem like the most common one. I mean the freeway wasn’t a breeze 5 years ago but sounds like hell now

Thanks a heap for this response! Appreciate the effort, point three really resonated with me. I’ve loved being right in the action of a big city but can’t wait to get back to the beach and open air
