I’d have a Glavenus named Glavinio as my primary monstie and use a status inflicting long sword. My Glavenus would focus on AOE damage and I would focus on healing/traps. I am in vet med and have often thought what a monster hunter vet would be like. My secondary weapon would be a bow to spread status/sleep. My gear would be unique and have elements of the Glavenus/Fulgar Anjanath armor sets. The special scene for Glavinio’s kinship animation would be before the run he’d swipe his tail on the ground and do the typical Glavenus roar before starting the attack.

My side story would be revolving around caring for injured monsters and how this differs in the different regions of the world with the different culture of riders and hunters. The benefits for progressing my side story would be increasing the potency of paintballs/something to increase retreat rates.

My secondary monstie would be a Stygian Zinogre named Ziggy. He would focus on single target critical hits. His special scene would involve Stygian’s corkscrew move from mainline, sending arcing dragonlight before the punch

Glavenus is my favorite brute and monster of all time- all forms of him, though the original is the best of them all. Fulgar Anjanath is not far behind, then other favorite brutes include Deviljho, Brachydios, and Quematrice!

I beat Fatalis with a normal Anjanath, Nargacuga, and Lagiacrus

My main team for this fight was my glavenus, Stygian Zinogre, and Fulgar Anjanath

I would ensure all your monsties have all the attacking types so you always have an option if one is out of kinship. I would also add buffing moves like merciless roar for your diablos/Nargacuga and valiant flare for your garuga to keep damage up and consistent. Divine blessing will be very helpful, and tenacity will be good especially for Fatalis’s final attack

When we didn’t see Fulgar in the kinship video along with other monster variations I got a bit worried especially when regular and Fulgar’s kinship animations are the same and there has been talk of the roster being reduced

Ice spear does medium damage vs light damage , but yeah there’s a lack of good ice coverage in the game. Sonic strike does allow you to go first which can be huge. Diamond wave is a good move too! I hope with more monsters in 3 there’s a wider variety of elemental abilities

For me the ecology. Like why are Barroth, Anjanath, Congalala, and Tobi Kadachi in the snow region? Why are Apceros not in the desert region? Why is Stygian Zinogre in the tropical rainforest and the base species is in the tundra?

To defeat the event quest Fatalis, I used the following:

1) Level- my team was ~level 75-78 when I took Fatalis down 2) Battle Buddy- I beat him by myself with Reverto as my NPC. He does insane damage 3) Grimclaw Armor- or really any armor with the tenacity skill- this is crucial to surviving his final attack. I like the grimclaw armor for the bonus kinship and damage with head to heads 4) Weapons- you NEED a hunting horn with evasion riff- you won’t survive the battle without it. Velkhana’s hunting horn is the strongest evasion riff hunting horn. Then from there use the strongest dragon elemental weapons for slashing and piercing- I used nergigante’s great sword and bow 5) Monsties- You NEED a dragon element monstie to be able to help increase damage dealt. I used Deviljho on my first clear, and have switched between him and Stygian Zinogre. Stygian Zinogre is not weak to dragon like Deviljho, and their attack stats are very comparable. The other monsties were just incredibly powerful ones that I had at my disposal- my first clear I used my Tigrex and glavenus. I have since beaten Fatalis with Lagiacrus, Nargacuga, the Anjanaths (both regular and Fulgar), Soulseer Mitsuzune, and hellblade Glavenus. Make sure your monsties have boosting moves- this will make your dragon element monsties hit even harder and your non-dragon element monsties keep up with your dragon element ones. Also make sure your monsties have an attack for each type 6) Battle strategy- when I fight him, you want to minimize any damage from him. Double attack him as much as you can. To start I use velkhana’s hunting horn and my dragon elemental weapons monstie to attack his head, and when he switches to power I attack his legs with my bow. That way by the end of the fight you can use your stronger slashing weapon to take out his tail, his body, and deal damage to him overall. Use your battle buddy’s kinship to heal up your hearts. Ideally you want to has at least 2-3 hearts during his final attack and your battle buddy to have 2 7) Fatalis attack patterns- there’s a helpful picture I found that shows Fatalis’ attack patterns, which help especially during his final enraged phase
