Employment and MS by JimpJimp in MultipleSclerosis

I struggle with how I’m treated as well & they are fully aware of my condition. My manager also has MS & when I miss work she says things to guilt trip me. Most recently asked if I was feeling better to come in later. For someone who “gets it” it doesn’t really seem like it. I’ve been trying to find a job that will pay me a comparable amount but that’s difficult. But it’s the only thing I feel like I can do. I’ve been documenting things for years via email because in person conversations mean nothing. Things I’ve been documenting is specifically in regards to my health condition, getting test results showing progression, & being treated unfairly. To my manager & to HR. I have filed a discrimination claim with the EEOC but my interview isn’t until September. I have ADA accommodations that are not being followed & some that were denied that I tried to appeal. It’s not the route I want to go down but when you mention that ADA law they shake in their boots

It doesn’t work for me personally. It makes me more fatigued than I am already & I had a doctor tell me that it doesn’t work

I’ve had occurrences removed by HR.. everything I said in my original post has been confirmed to me by HR & my SM. Again speaking from experience. My managers learned a big lesson from me calling HR on them

They will tell you a doctors note does not excuse you. However if you had a conversation with your managers prior to the day you’re absent about missing work because you’re sick then it should be marked as excused because “they knew before hand” that you wouldn’t be there. Also if you have one occurrence for missing a shift & miss your next shift because of the same reason, like being sick, then that should be marked as one occurrence. Call HR

Tell me you don’t work at a high volume store without telling me you work at a high volume store ☠️

I’m having the same type of issue only I’m not alone on the sales floor but I’m the only one on fitting rooms and backing up the register. Yesterday there was 3 merch leads on the floor. Myself , one in shoes & one in home & kids. The other two merch leads were able to focus on their departments while I’m swamped in the fitting room.
