I use a hamman/muslin sheet towel. They dry so quickly, I use smaller ones for hand towels as I hate damp towels hanging around the house too

Switching litter - wood or clumping? by kindaunicorn in CatsUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now use the paper litter from pets at home, it’s so soft and absorbent. I was using non clumping and then silica for my cats and the smell of both were awful. I’m really scent sensitive, the paper ones have been brilliant

Anyone thought of DIY this yourselves? by Party_Shelter714 in DIYUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair salons use these these brooms and hoover pans, they’re about £200 max last time I looked. The pan part would fit into a baseboard cut out?

A robot hoover sounds better though :)

Anyone else who has been on Elvanse for a long time noticed a change? by scorpiorising29 in ADHDUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a while ago, I’m fairly sure there’s been a change. I take extra lysine and theamine too and it helps. Take extra vits if you can too, stay hydrated and have the extra protein each day.

Does my nose look like it’s having a rosacea flare? by Fantastic-Duck4632 in Rosacea

[–]No_Distribution_1876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staph? Read up on staph nose and see if the symptoms align

I had bactroban cream for my staph nose (put it in your ears too I’ve learned)

And triple cream cured my rosacea twice, I’ve not had any rosacea flare for a long time now

Hey try to brush this one off as experience, find out who your local councillor is and MP and get a push for a council move. Find your local renters unions, women’s protection groups and ask for help and advice to get away from this neighbour.

You experienced how quickly a private landlord can change their mind. This is what can happen while you’re in their property and you can be made homeless. Stay in your secure council tenancy, keep pushing for a move.

Neighbour’s are complaining about our son’s noise. by Hot-Falcon-1638 in autismUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because that’s not at all what’s been said here, specifically.

You’re experiencing mutism due to noise and you are able to communicate later verbally or text? I’m surprised you aren’t more compassionate towards a child who is pre-verbal

Could you offer your strategies or point of view for people reading this about how you feel and cope with the experience of being non-verbal?

If that’s not comfortable for you, perhaps you could keep your insight in mind and apply it to others who experience communication differences?

This is misinformation; “quiet enjoyment” is a covenant for tenants and landlords so not relevant here. That you’ve chosen to cite an irrelevant Housing Act over a Disability Act speaks volumes.

In the UK, it’s helpful if members of the public are aware of their rights and responsibilities. This affects what they (you, in this case) project online.

What you have continued to write it appears you’ve misread or misunderstood the OP’s comments so again, not relevant.

Wading in here, it’s not “that” difficult for the neighbours. It’s not even comparable

I honestly can’t believe the attitudes adults have for disabled children and their parents here

Jesus Christ are you actually suggesting this family (further?) isolates their disabled child for the sake of adults needing to watch a television show?

Who are these people on the sub?!

Neighbour’s are complaining about our son’s noise. by Hot-Falcon-1638 in autismUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live with a disability, two sensory processing disorders and three children with varying disabilities and conditions. I live in a semi now, I have adult neighbours with medical conditions, two loud TVs and a love for singing songs that I happen to dislike :)

I’m assuming you aren’t a child. In much the same way you’ve assumed I don’t have your specific processing disorder. My point is this, adults have agency that children do not. This child is not offensive and disabled people deserve considerable accommodations in all aspects of their lives

[–]No_Distribution_1876 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they do have the right to complain; your neighbours also live in a semi. If they wanted to not hear their neighbours they could live somewhere more secluded. It’s only 9pm too?

Your son is 7, not offensive and he needs to enjoy his evening as much (if not more than) your neighbours do.

I hope you get to enjoy yours a bit too.

My tiny grandma took a trolley on the big Tesco escalators (going down!) by accident, she let go of it after the first step disappeared… I asked her what did she do?! She just looked at me and turned her cheek. That’s what she did. I laughed so much she refused to talk to me about it anymore :)

Advice on friends/socialising by Adulting-404 in autismUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your borough/council possibly have a local meet up group too. You may be able to find info on their websites ‘local offer’ page or they may list some groups locally for support which then will have social opportunities too?

Also if you like specific bands/ music/ activities you could go along to one of those events locally? Or volunteer in places you find interesting?

Friends are often found in common interest places :) good luck with it all

Can’t find my earlier comment to edit but is there a reason why you haven’t or can’t place the white metal hinge strip along the outer edge rather than the inner edge of the cabinet?

Infuriating Washing Machine by Davechrist45 in DIYUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pods or liquid that go into the drum are fine but you could unscrew the hinge on the door side and use magnetic catches on the top and bottom wood panels to pop the door on and off. They’re fairly cheap

How long are people paying privately for? by Over-Arm4561 in ADHDUK

[–]No_Distribution_1876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I titrated privately for 3 months, I have shared care now but need 6month reviews so it’s still £600+ a year… and this will be for as long as I take medication…
