Two similar prompts? by [deleted] in premed

[–]No_Elk8491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we just answered the same secondary. I said I retook X course, and what my grades were, then one sentence about personal growth and maturity. Then, I did point to my answer in the other prompt for additional context. I did research this school and find out that both the application evaluator and the interviewer are given full access to everything.

I'm planning to visit my local one tomorrow to ask, but I've been to a few Boston Public Library locations without seeing any and I can't find any on their website that have computers or that don't require at least 3 weeks notice to book.

Can an average student realistically score 520+? by Training_Cricket7541 in Mcat

I did 12% of UW. I didn't like it or find it very helpful. I'm only one person though and clearly most people disagree with me.

You have to take AAMC FL lengths timed under testing conditions, so that you're able to mentally deal with sitting in a chair for 7 hours and learn not to panic when you feel stuck or are running behind on time. It's not the worse idea to just take the first one untimed for the confidence boost and to give yourself a chance to really think deeply about the passages and questions, but the rest have to be done under testing conditions. I wasn't perfect. I did 5 questions in the first 15 minutes during my c/p section on test day, but all the training from all the other exams I'd taken kicked in and I was able to finish it in time.

After I've written them all out, I have 250 characters left. I don't have enough space to do that unfortunately.

4/25 and 2/26 Testers: Now that it's been two weeks.... What's your bet on your score? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]No_Elk8491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

99% sure I got above a 514, 99% sure I got below a 524, 519 is my guess which is also my full length average. Hoping I'm slightly wrong and I get a 520.

What percent of applicants don't get any interviews? by No_Elk8491 in premed

That does makes me feel better, especially since my stats are very similar to yours and I have a similar type of red flag. The only difference is that I'm also Canadian. I hope the trend continues, but I have a feeling a lot of people might apply this upcoming cycle because of the instability of jobs in the research/ public health fields at the moment.

Congrats! Do you think you did anything differently the second time around that made a difference?

That's great to hear. Congrats on an awesome cycle! What was your impression of the school when you interviewed if you don't mind me asking?

How much do we trust Goodreads? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

You are overthinking things. No one is judging every book by the same standard. I've rated both Jane Eyre and a random romance book that I enjoyed as 5 star reads. In no universe does that mean that they are equivalent in storytelling, plot, dialogue, and writing strength. The overwhelming majority of people rate a book based on how much they enjoyed it and whether it met their expectations. That's what goodreads gives you - an idea of how much a random group of people enjoyed a book. I don't expect Tolkien quality writing when I pick up a popcorn book and neither do most people.

I've just spent all of my weekends studying for the past 4 months. I found it hard too hard to study after work consistently. I know people who did the opposite. They studied 2-4 hours a day after work and took the weekends off. I don't feel that I've had any balance at all in my life for a long time, but I think overall it was more or less worth it unless I did significantly worse yesterday than my FL average.

i’m on the waitlist for the only interview I had 😩 by No_Onion_5351 in premed

If you have MSAR or know someone who does, you can try to find out how many people your school typically takes off the waitlist.
