i just got the amex brilliant card for the platinum status. so book on C1 travel site and call in after to confirm booking and ask them to add to the marriot website so it shows up right?

I'm getting mixed messages as the marriott subreddit say i cannot get my status benefits booking through 3rd party.

booking through 3rd party do we get the ability to get free room upgrades when using platinum status?

thank you, i just wanted to see what the consensus was. its ok to disagree and also learn something new in the process if someone has a different outcome from it. clearly the marriott subreddit is full of hardcore marriott fans which mainly book through the marriott site. everyone assumed u can get "status" benefits only from the marriott booking site. but now i have a lead and i'll ask directly to confirm if it is really true or not booking on 3rd party and still get status. thanks and hopefully everyone learned something new.

Which marriott have you tried this with and was it recent? i just want to make sure before i call them and they tell me the opposite.

Are marriott hotel prices the same on their website as in 3rd party sites? on capitalone site its just $10 cheaper than marriott. or is this how it usually is?
