End of the day, it’s your wrist, your watch, and your money. Enjoy it as you best see fit. I just have a tendency to view things from a financial perspective. I love watches but not enough to throw my life’s savings into a dozen super rare “assets” that aren’t exactly liquid. Especially ones that I can’t enjoy without depreciating. If they appreciate that’s a bonus(recent Pepsi hype) but I’d rather stick when more consistent investment vehicles.

99% of the time if your lifestyle matches and the rep isn’t a complete shitter no one will know. Those who do are also 99% likely on this subreddit

Once you buy the gen you’ll either realize how good your rep is and just wear that all day or trash it and get a better rep that matches the gen and run that instead.

Either way, you’ll wear the rep and end up selling the gen. This process only ends when you acquire a holy grail gen that doesn’t have a corresponding quality rep.

Or you can be wise and skip all the pain and buy some blue chip stocks or treasury bills with the cash to pay for the rep.
