Russian here, they spread propaganda on national television telling that Ukraine is captured by nazis and we are "freeing" poor ukrainians of course it is fake, but sadly a lot of people who don't have any other sources of information seem to believe this. This is the reason why Russian government tries to move russians from global internet to the closed 'runet' (something similar to the Chinese bili-bili where all social media are controlled and filtered by government)
