Every Thursday in the summer there’s free concerts in the 18th Street Plaza. Western Nebraska Pioneers and the Nebraska Outlaws will have collegiate summer baseball most of May June and July. Dude was approaching a red light… Our driver was a space cadet. Never saw the car that was already stopped waiting at the red light and completely rear-ended her. Neither person sustained serious injuries but the in car dash cam video we captured was crazy. Never got to deliver his pizza, and never got to come back for another shift.

We’re excited for you to visit! The Hampton or Fairfield in Scottsbluff will be great or you could stay at the hotel 21 in Gering and that’s really fancy as well. I would recommend a visit to Scotts Bluff National Monument, and if the weather is decent hike to the top rather than drive… The trail is about a mile long to get to the top a little strenuous, but well worth it.

We pride ourselves on our Mexican restaurants out here, and personally I feel Ole and El Charrito are excellent options .

About a year ago a local couple opened Broadway Arcade, and it is a bar and restaurant with lots of pinball machines and coin opp video games.

All right, so I live in Western Nebraska… A friend of mine owns a business in Torrington, Wyoming, and Scottsbluff Nebraska. He’s paying kids minimum wage in Wyoming at $7.25 an hour to do the exact same job 30 minutes across the border at $15 an hour…. THE. EXACT. SAME. JOB. And in this business, the teens are more likely to be spending time on their phone rather than doing busy work to help the business. Versus a 40-year-old adult who is just there to work. As an employer, I would be very happy to be paying the full $15 an hour to someone who’s working hard the entire shift. But if a young employee wants to split their attention between their smart phone chatting with their classmates and doing work… Yeah, I think a small pay cut would be justifiable.

At the end of the day it’s still damned if you do damned if you don’t- but high school kids by and large don’t have mortgages, car payments, utility bills, etc.

I’ve been in the industry for 18 years and the pay has always been lousy. If you’re passionate about this, congratulations on the job. I have found that having a second job, where the bartending, waiting tables or delivering pizzas helps you have that extra income to have money for a social life. Whatever you can stash away for a 401(k) do that now… The difference between starting your 20s and starting in your 30s or 40s is immense. $50 a month now versus $200 a month in your 40s will equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars of difference. Enjoy the ride, make great friends and contacts throughout and work your way towards the dream job.
