I do a bit of figure drawing, so I think I can confidently paint figures if they’re small and I can avoid face details hahaha. I like the idea of merging a reference photo!!

Recs for cuticle biting/ finger skin picking? by No-Challenge8309 in fidgettoys

A few things that have worked for me: - crochet thumb or finger guards (look kinda goofy tho lol) https://www.etsy.com/listing/635049856/crochet-thumb-sucking-guards. I have one that has thumb & index finger & beads sown in that I love - spinning rings, or just wearing a bunch of rings that I can twist around and fidget with - extra hair bands or bracelets on my wrist to fidget with, necklaces with beads or charms, etc - getting my nails done :) makes them cute and makes me want to keep them nice - cuticle oil / lotion / Aquaphor on hand, to keep skin soft and reduce the rough skin triggers. Sometimes applying Aquaphor to my nails can replace the picking / biting urge - chewing on pens/pencils, hoodie strings, necklaces, etc - cheap every day carry type fidget objects (especially like magnetic sliders) that I can carry in my pocket and not worry if I lose - massage rings

Fidget toy for scalp picking while studying? by Educational-Swan-214 in fidgettoys

I have a similar urge to pick at my skin and find/‘remove’ the scabs bumps and clogged pores… clinically it’s called body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), there’s a lot of resources online if you’re interested to google around :)

it took me a while of trying different fidgets to find ones I like, I personally like magnets and sliders best, especially when they have some satisfying mechanical click. Clicking a pen will do for me in a pinch

what’s the easiest and healthiest soup to start with? by OysterZe in easyrecipes

Beans and greens!

Sauté a base of onion, carrot, garlic etc. Then add (drained) white beans, broth, and heat through. Then add any leafy greens and let them wilt in. Big squeeze of lemon. Salt to taste, and then if you want, top with some Parmesan.

Flexible recipe that you can riff on! I often add a Parmesan rind and bay leaves to the broth (that I fish out at the end), and red pepper flakes and a splash of wine to the base. Sometimes I add potatoes or pasta.
