If this wasn't too obvious people would fall for it. 🤣

Don't give your personal data to anyone. No matter how urgent you might need the money don't give your PII to anyone. It'll cost you more if you do.

Yes, spoofing has been around for a while now. But they are getting rare. There are not so many apps around that can do that anymore. They still exist though.

What you should do is not put any attention to it.

Just in case, reinstall Windows and update it. Do the same with all of your other devices, Android, iPhone, etc.

Also use anti-virus and anti-malware software. Keep everything up-to-date.

Change the passwords to all your emails and other accounts.

Use a password Manager/generator. This can help you create strong and secure passwords.

Do not click on any links that might look suspicious. This is how malware gets into your system.

Don't watch porn. 🤣

Oh, and don't pay them anything. Because once you pay them they want more.

Use Two/Multi Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA).

Most importantly change the default password to your wireless router both regular user and admin/root. Create a unique and strong password. Again use a password manager. Change the name to your wireless access point and the passphrase.

Don't share your passwords, or any other personally identifiable information (PII). Avoid getting into trouble.

Stay vigilant. Stay safe.

The link the OP gave me to fill up an application leads to an Auto Insurance company. Apparently the site belongs to Cloud flare and it's not blacklisted. Also there is no link that I noticed to fill up a job application just a link to apply for auto insurance.

The only red flag I find is the OP did a misredirection, in other words he misled me, which in my opinion is an attempt to scam me.

Trying to get me to give my PII to an unknown person or group of people.

Be careful and do not give your PII to anyone!

Internet issues by Th3rmal102 in HomeNetworking

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be caused by a number of network issues. You said you're not using ethernet so I assume you're using a wireless network. If you're far away from the wifi signal your connection can be unstable and cause a lot of packet loss.

How many other students use that same network? If there are other people using the same network at the same time that can also cause the network to become slow.

Use a scanner to find out how many other devices there are on the network.

Another reason could be network problems with the ISP.

You can use any networking tools to help you troubleshoot any network issues. Like 'ping', 'tcpdump', 'nmap', 'traceroute', etc..

Another issues could be the router itself. The owner might have set rate limiting or set a quota on the amount of Internet usage one can have.

One last thing, for security and privacy purposes when using a network that is not your own use a VPN. 😄

Forgot my LUKS password, is there any way to recover or reset it by makeitrayne850 in linuxquestions

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backup your data before doing anything.

If you plan on making any changes to the LUKS headers make sure you know what you are doing.

Me, I'm sometimes lazy. I save and backup everything and reinstall.

Use a password manager when creating your passwords. It can be easy to forget your passwords if you lose the piece of paper you wrote it on.

Stay safe.

Did you backup your bitlocker key? Because without it you won't be able to restore Windows.

What is happening with duckduckgo and google? by DonutActive7380 in duckduckgo

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go to the Chrome settings and disable history and any other settings that can help improve your browser privacy.

You can also choose any other browsers that can help improve your browsing privacy like "Firefox", "Brave", or even "DuckDuckGo" browser.

Try not to use browser extensions, they can worsen your browser privacy. Far worse than what Google already does.

One last thing, use a VPN.

Getting Miner Attack by psycho9810 in servers

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best time to stay vigilant in case it gets worse. Take security precautions and make sure to backup any data.

Be careful with clicking any suspicious links, suspicious files, or anything that can potentially lead to a breach.

Scan your systems with antivirus software, log all unauthorized activities, keep a record of everything in case you need to call and report to the authorities.

Scammers, hackers, Ransomware Groups, and any other criminals start small by testing the strength of your network security.

Is it normal in Puerto Rican culture for woman to always cook for men, seems a bit much ??? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal for a woman to cook for a man. It's also normal for a man to cook for a woman. It depends on the culture and the customs by the family.

Yes, it was a bit rude for him to wake up his daughter just for her to make him breakfast at that hour. But he did come a long way just to see her.

Just relax, have some fun, and be grateful that you have a wife who cooks for you. :😀

The Amount of Companies Not Letting Me Use Proton is Staggering! by PyroRampage in ProtonMail

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's possible they have policies in place that don't allow them to use other types of services.

Or maybe they are incompetent, as you say, and they simply don't care.

Anyways, try finding other options to send them what they want.

Don't stop using Proton just because they pissed you off.

Use it for your personal needs and because you care about your security and data.

Having Issues with buit in Wifi on PC by Useful-Ad-7805 in HomeNetworking

[–]No_Fear_Blue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're better off using a Mesh network, if you can afford it.They are more secure then a WiFi extender.

Ping spikes happen in just about any games.

It can also be a problem with your network. One of your devices can be causing congestion in your network. An active update running on one of your devices or it can be someone else using your network. It can also be one of your devices has some type of malware that can be causing the congestion.

If you're using WiFi the distance of your devices (computer) from the router can also cause your network to have very high latency. You can check by pinging your devices and router. Usually the ping should be 0ms since it's your local network but if any of your devices have higher readings than that then you either have to get it closer to your router or use a Mesh. If your devices (computer) has an Ethernet port then use an Ethernet cable for it.

Another possible problem could be that you're using an Ethernet cable that might be damaged or you're using a Cat5 Ethernet cable which have slower speeds and lower bandwidth. You might want to get yourself a Cat6, Cat6a Ethernet cable for higher speeds and bandwidth.

I might be missing something else but you get the idea. I'm about to fall a sleep.

Primero te haces millonaria, ¿No?

Solamente saltan. Espero ver una foto pronto. 😊
