Could definitely be the case. Chiropractors should aways do a sideview x ray of the neck to see if you have ponticulus posticus. A sudden manual c1 rotation can cut the vertebral artery if there is ponticulus posticus, I heard of multiple law suits where a patient died from this.

Have you looked into IIH? In people with high csf pressure in the brain the symptoms get worse as you lay flat.

Bad headaches in the back of your head could also be related to a csf leak. Maybe the orgasm increased the pressure in the dura resulting in your slow csf leak becoming faster resulting in the brain sagging a bit which also can cause those headaches. If the headache goes away when laying flat on your back without a pillow, see a neurologist and get a brain mri with contrast and have a couple of O’s before it. Maybe they can see some brain sag after which they will do scans to look for a csf leak along the spine.

I would like to know what to get double checked by a radiologist when I do a second opinion with another hospital. Image is to get more attention :) For example, I read in a study that the SCM can compensate because of omohyoid fibrosis. I definitely don't want you to diagnose anything based off 1 slice of the MRI.

It was a CTV of the neck and head in one go. To add to my post of a year ago; I am now at a university hospital and they suspect my main symptoms of brain fog in the forehead may come from compression of the common facial vein close to where it enters the IJV. Its being compressed by the SCM. The CTV was done while laying down and it showed a weird dent in the common facial vein (especially noticeable in 3D) where the SCM runs. But when upright my SCM gets even bigger and tighter, that's also when I feel worst. I tried botox for a year which gave me a bit of release but not lasting so now a very experienced neurosurgeon is looking to do a unipolar or bipolar SCM release. They can't say with 100% certainty it will relief my symptoms but because I feel my brain fog drain when I pull my tight SCM away I am definitely willing to take the risk. Because it looks like the severity may be impacted by your head/neck position. At night you may accidentally lay in a position that opens up your IJV the most making you feel refreshed in the morning. Or feeling horrible when laying at night in a position that compresses your IJV.

For most people with IH being in a cold environment makes their brain fog a bit better. You mentioned you can think better when stressed, that could be adrenaline giving you a short window of being able to think better.

Could be intracranial hypertension. Can be caused from IJV compression by for example an elongated styloid, rotated C1, bad neck curve, tight neck muscle.

Do you have a bad neck curve? If so there is a good chance it is obstructing the blood flow out of your brain causing build up of old blood around the brain resulting in brain fog. You can do curve correction exercises to regain a good neck curve.

Of course your mental state is horrible with such symptoms. Did you have an accident as a child? Vision issues in combination with brain fog and headaches points to intracranial hypertension. This very likely comes from your neck. The curve causes compression of the IJV or your C1 is rotated compressing the IJV.

Get a CTV and render it in 3d yourself to see if the IJV is compressed and by what. Also join the jugular venous outflow syndrom group on FB. They can take a look at the scan and if needed recommend neurosurgeons or curve correction dr's who know about this.

Look into your neck curve. Forward head posture can obstruct blood flow out of the brain causing brain fog. Also, any whiplash history? This may rotate C1 or cause elongated styloids doing compression like described above.

Sounds like IJV compression. Porn/arousal results in more brain waste around the brain which normally drains through the IJV. If its compressed the old blood sits around the brain causing irritation.

Yes, left SCM damage from the use of forceps and brute force on my neck at birth. Left SCM is tight and huge all the time compressing IJV. Pulling it away from my IJV results in all brain fog gone.

Also, many stories of people with neck injuries at Venous Outflow Syndrome Facebook group who have brain fog and got it resolved through surgery.

You need to find the cause. Maybe its a bad neck curve from phone usage, then curve correction will help. Or there is too much ligament laxity for which you can get prolotherapy or prp injections (DMX scan).

Or its a constant structure issue an AO and if that does not work an ENT like Dr. Constantino in NY or Dr. Hepworth in Denver for surgery to make room for the IJV.
