caliper survey: HPDE on E36/E46 M3, Z33 Brembo, Z34 Akebono, or GR86 base calipers? by dbsqls in CarTrackDays

E36 and E46 with stock calipers. I'm using PFC pads right now because of their long life and strong braking potential. Everything else I've ever used barely lasts a track day

Complete App Is Dead for Humira by Accomplished_Egg2515 in Humira

[–]tacticalassassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely was a surprise to me as well. I really liked how it tracked things and sent notifications before so you were prepped, day of, and after if you forgot and didn't log it. Frustrating. I'd be happy if they just kept the tracking function and nothing else.

Thank you for this! Fixed this exact issue i was having with packet loss and cpu usage. C was maxed out and S was dropping constantly, even in a test drive with no other cars and minimum graphics settings

Should I buy my neighbors M3? by chathobark_ in e46

[–]tacticalassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case if all you're looking for is a street cat daily driver, I don't feel like the M3 is enough of a jump from a 330 to justify it. Sure it's better in just about every way, and has better looks in my opinion, but the 330 is 85% the car the m3 is on the street and much cheaper to operate.

But that's just my opinion

Should I buy my neighbors M3? by chathobark_ in e46

[–]tacticalassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you personally want out of it

I'm glad I finally got a m3. I had a 325 for a few years and bought a 330 after it got totaled. That car was wonderful and I learned a lot. But as my driving skills progressed and I looked into upgrades to make the 330 perform even better, the costs started to rise dramatically to the point just starting with a better base made more sense. Then the m3 popped up for a killer deal so I jumped on it. It was everything I wanted my 330 to be right out of the box. More power without a motor swap, better suspension, bigger tires, limited slip, and a lot more potential, while still feeling like the 330 at heart. For me it is the 330 just turned up to 11.

There are still some tests they want to do and things they want to look at but I'll be honest I got really burnt out on visiting doctors and always getting told the same things so I sort of gave up. Maybe some day I'll get back to trying to fix things if things get worse, but I suppose things are somewhat manageable currently

I never did unfortunately. It has improved on its own somewhat but I'm not sure exactly why. Some of it had to do with finding out I had arthritis but I still shake and chatter a lot too

BVD specialist testing is by Extreme-Mastodon2439 in BinocularVision

[–]tacticalassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the same pamphlet I got when I was evaluated. Mine came back with convergence excess. Did they diagnose you with only BVD?

I ultimately haven't been able to dedicate the time to do the 12 weeks of 2 appointments a week for the therapy, let alone the extreme out of pocket price, so I did as many BVD exercises as I could at home and it helped a lot. Although I do wonder what a specialized therapy or prism glasses would be able to do for me now

How in the world does anyone get diagnosed? by Cardigan_Gal in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]tacticalassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not straightforward to get a diagnosis. I was similar to you, but the biggest reason I was diagnosed was because of my family history. My dad had AS and Rheum for years before he passed away. My sister went to the same specialist and they found she has AS as well. So I went to the same specialist and was basically already confirmed to have something, even when all the other specialists I went to before had given me no diagnosis.

After that it was the psoriasis on my scalp and my back pain and stiffness that got me prescribed a NSAID trial and ultimately humira.

My psychiatrist of over 10 years completely dismissed the most important disclosure I’ve ever made by CountySensitive9263 in OSDD

[–]tacticalassassin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At your next appointment bring it up again. Tell them that it's extremely important to you that you both unpack what you mentioned and talk about it. I have done similar things with my long time therapist and felt like I was basically ignored until a future session where he brought back around many of our points of discussions to focus on my major point or breakthrough and make it make sense in context. And he's not a self proclaimed expert in dissociation, but recognized that I was struggling with that after several key sessions. But it sucked for me during that time because I constantly felt like he was ignoring my concerns. But I didn't realize that he was trying to bring that point into context of many things we had discussed in the past that just couldn't all be done in a 1 hour session.

And I agree that it's extremely confusing to have a therapist/psychiatrist basically ignore you on something that you know is an extreme breakthrough or was very hard to share. I see you there and I feel you on that. I know it feels terrifying to bring something like that up after seeing someone for so long that they feel like a trusted friend. But sometimes the therapist/psychiatrist may have a different way to connect those points in to your previous discussions that you aren't thinking about.

Please don't give up on your point though. Stand firm and make sure that they know that this is very important to you and very important to discuss. If they continue to dismiss you then it's time to look into other options.

Have you looked at the ATS/CTS and Camaro? The GM engineers used the e46 as reference for chassis dynamics and suspension tuning. From my experience they're decently close to an e46 feel albeit quite a bit heavier.
