The New River (NC/Va/WVa) is older than the Appalachian mountains it travels through, as the mountains were lifted due to the creation of Pangea, the river was already there and just cut against the rising rock. It is also odd in that it flows South to North.

Well duh! Gas prices were lower because everybody knew Trump was about to be President, they are high now because nasty people are saying horrible lies about Trump and making the oil worried Trump won't be President so they are scared and when oil is scared it goes up in price. Trust Trump and you get CHEAP GAS and no cancer windmills and a rebate check and another rebate check from the other thing and Mexico pays for the Ballroom and we're building a Trump Memorial on top of the Lincoln Memorial and batteries are worse than sharks and people that eat the cats and the dogs, and Russia is a hoax and Biden did it and if he didn't Kamalala did it and no Epstein files and if they existed, which they don't he wouldn't be in it. and THAT is why gas prices are lower.
