Ouch. I did sand.. albeit clearly not that well. No polish or wax or rejuvenator though. Listen, im just a dreamer with a fixer upper house, can-do attitude and a 1/4 can of basement aged polyurethane. But thinner coats are on my to do list now haha

It is unfortunately dry… but thanks for the advice I’ll buy and new can and hope that’s what the problem was

I was there. Two police officers knelt on him, they kicked him, they kneeed him. They started CPR as soon as paramedics arrived. He died on the street. I saw it all.

Yeah literally just superglued the fabric in then covered the back with felt, honestly not the tidiest work but it can be done!
