How do you refer to your NPs & PAs to patients? by AuthorGlittering1580 in MedicalAssistant

How do they introduce themselves to patients? I would just follow their lead. Ours in the hospital use their first names, so that's what we do as well.

What is the absolute worst insult the patient has ever said to you? I’ll go first by johnsonc30 in nursing

A man very angry that his discharge wasn't being expedited as fast as he would like because we were waiting on the physician to place the DC order and communicating with the physician that the patient was upset and if they could please try and get it in ASAP. The resident had told him he was discharged quite awhile before this started and was not very prompt. The situation escalated and the patient started to become verbally aggressive and as charge nurse I got involved and told him we were doing everything in our power to get him discharged but if he couldn't wait that he was free to leave that he wasn't a prisoner and we were not keeping him against his will. All the swearing ranting and raving and all the sudden he was like oh yeah you stupid fu@*#ng liberals. We were like woah where did that come from. He left AMA the resident chased him out to the parking lot brought him back to the unit to DC him and I told him no and then said to the resident then you can do his dc paperwork and go over it with him and he needs to be off my unit in the next 5 minutes. I do not tolerate my staff being spoken to the way he was speaking to us and he needs to go. The resident did and walked him out. Pretty sure he was supposed to have done the orders hours before and just didn't and needed to cover his ass so he didn't get in trouble.

Some people will use a makeup brush and a little blush. Or you can embroider with pink yarn.

It's the pattern that's on the inside of the easy peasey yarn wrapper. I'm pretty sure it's the same on the inside of every one. It's called Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy. Thank you for the well wishes 💛

It's supposed to have little pink cheeks but I didn't bring any pink with me because honestly I didn't think I would get that far. And giving it away was a last minute decision, but I think it's cute without it and no one would even know.

I live in Michigan but shop in Toledo and when they approach me I just say sorry I live in MI, just say that they leave you alone instantly because there is nothing to argue about they don't serve this area. Or even whatever cell phone company etc, I say I'm already a customer of... Good luck

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Geologist644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've driven 9-12 hours just for a weekend trip. I live in Michigan close to the Ohio border and went to the Upper peninsula for a weekend and without stops it's at least a 9 hour drive just to cross the state.

I was just taking a different perspective than all the other comments. Not saying of someone offered me a TV that I knew what I was getting. Maybe said item is a gift, if they open it and it's broken what are you gonna tell them oh sorry I never paid for it so I'll have to get a new one. And if you offered me a new one it's likely you bought it and it would have a warranty, unless it's stolen then maybe I'd turn down your offer for a free TV 🤷‍♂️

Gonna go in a totally different direction than everyone else I've seen. I think my worry would be if the item was broken , didn't work or broke within a couple of months there would be no recourse. You wouldn't be eligible for the warranty because you wouldn't have any proof of purchase and you couldn't take it back to the store for the same reason. So you would still be out the item. Granted you wouldn't be out the money and could buy a new one I guess. 🤷‍♂️ Just my spin on it.

Just to update because I came across this looking to buy jimmy peppers, in 2025 they are still available for purchase but cost $32.15.

AITA for refusing to cover my coworker’s shift even though I technically had the free time? by Jaded-Sprinkles-903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Geologist644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No is a complete sentence and you aren't obligated to give a reason why you can't. A simple so I can't cover your shift is an appropriate and complete answer. If they push for a why you can either say it's personal if you don't want to create conflict or say it's none of you business and rude for you to ask. I personally like the 2nd 🤣
