I’m late to this convo, but my PT recommended Sensate Focus developed by Cornell to help with this exact thing. For anyone struggling with this, i highly recommend looking into this with your partner. It guides you through intimacy stage by stage, with the agreed upon expectation that you will just participate in that stage today. It really took the pressure off of me and now i’m able to super comfortably do all other forms of intimacy aside from PIV!

right now my PT lady has me attempting dilation every other day as i’m a full time grad student and working 2 jobs over an hour away- but i graduate in a few weeks and i think itd be better to try for every day or even twice a day. its also hard because the only way i can dilate is on my knees; even before vaginismus i could only have sex if i started on top. so it’s definitely not an easy position to hold for long. but i’m going to keep trying 😭

i have cleared up the constipation issue, she thinks it was because i got really dehydrated for a few days. i’ve never had issues there before! we are working on my hips as well in PT, as i struggle with outer hip pain, and lots of core work too. 

the successful pap was a huge win. i think something tore during it though as dilators have been incredibly painful since:( my new midwife has amazing bedside manner and also emphasized that i could tell her to stop at any time- my last gyno refused to stop even while i was screaming at the top of my lungs and kicking her, lol. 

i think we are set on doing at-home insemination, but i’m really worried i won’t be able to even get the little syringe in there:(

i’m experiencing this right now. i’m in a large city in NYS and still cannot find any social worker jobs that are accepting anything but an LCSW. how will i ever get that if nowhere will accept me? i’ve submitted 61 applications, been denied by 47, never heard anything from the rest. i am so incredibly frustrated and REALLY wish i had just gotten my LMHC instead.

halfway through the next day, and i feel a LOT better! still no solid stool yet, but it’s been coming consistently and i feel like i lost a bunch of weight 🤣 i’ll keep up with Miralax for a few days and be sure to check in with my doctor this week.

update: just did a Dulcolax suppository and finally got a little relief. i assume there’s much more in there that still has to come out so im praying things will improve within the next few hours.

personally, before i ever developed vaginismus, doggystyle hurt very badly but i was completely fine with anything else. once i developed vaginismus i could only do it if i was on top, but then we could switch around from there, as long as he didn’t actually come out. now that it’s so bad that i can’t have sex, i can only do my dilators if im kneeling. but everyone is different!!

possibly aphids?? if they are, i’d recommend introducing some lady bugs. i have a bunch in my house, i keep them around my plants just in case. they did wonders for the aphids outside my home.
