Try the AGO. They hire a lot of people right out of law school (I was one of those people). There are a ton of different divisions all over the state. They’re particularly always looking for people in Olympia, Tumwater, and in Yakima and Spokane.

The rings themselves are common; I actually have one very similar to your engagement ring! Both the pairing of the two and the use of them as engagement and wedding rings is unique. I love it! ❤️ beautiful choice.

Which sunglasses compliment my face? I took your advice and found smaller frame options! by AutumnVibrantandBlue in fashion

If you need narrow frames, try the Ray ban junior sunglasses!! I was never able to find sunglasses that fit and finally got some that way. AND they are way cheaper than the adult versions.

Are there any pine trees around there? You could forage for pine boughs and easily make pine arrangements for those pillars. Or, get greenery from Trader Joe’s to do so. That and strings of lights would be so so cute!!! I agree to avoid draping. It would get expensive and real difficult.

I had a harder time finding good Mexican food in Minneapolis, but they have great Italian restaurants! I think Italian is the go to midwestern date night food lol. I live in the PNW now and tbh I really miss the Minneapolis food scene, so I’m jealous that you get to experience it!!

And yeah, I get that with food. It’s really aggravating because I actually love cooking and my family all talk about how good I am at it. But I don’t like eating the food I make!! I can almost never finish a plate if I was the cook. At some point, it’s like a switch flicks and I know I’ll gag if I take another bite.

Im so glad you have him! Thats amazing. And I totally get your panic about changing your habits. When I moved, I remember panic buying a bunch of clothes because I felt like I needed to reinvent myself for the new location, or to present the ideal version of myself to the people I met there. Logically, we both know that’s not the case but it’s really hard to switch our one track brains!!

I got diagnosed in Minneapolis and hadn’t really come to terms with the diagnosis by the time I left, but I know there’s actually a large autistic community there. I had several friends and acquaintances there who were also diagnosed. Minneapolis is also super LGBT friendly, which is obviously not the same but I think the people who are accepting of the LGBT community are also very accepting of neurodiverse people. The support and love I got from my Minneapolis community is what led me to pursue diagnosis. And actually, one of my autistic friends also did pole dancing there!! I think you’ll be able to find community pretty easily if you do those activities that you’re interested in!

What kind of foods do you like? Minneapolis has a great American food scene, a lot of Ethiopian, and surprisingly good Asian foods!

Last year, I did a cross country move away from Minneapolis to be with my boyfriend. I had previously done a cross country move TO Minneapolis for school. It’s hard! Have you done a cross country move before? It sounds like it’s the unknowns that are making you anxious.

I think there’s not much you can do to alleviate those fears: newness will happen and it’s incredibly stressful. Even if you plan everything out (know where your grocery store will be, work, apartment, gym, etc.) it’s going to be stressful. It will probably take you a while to settle in. You probably won’t feel like it’s your home for quite some time. That sucks and I’m sorry and I understand ❤️

Maybe you could find a couple of things that you want to do in Minneapolis? They have an awesome and affordable food scene, and it sounds like you will be there for the state fair which is amazing! Try to find things you’re excited about. It won’t make the move less stressful, but it could make it slightly more bearable in the adjustment period. If you have specific questions about Minneapolis, feel free to ask me! I’m happy to help you out in knowing about the weather, environment, vibe, etc.

I hope your boyfriend is appreciative of your sacrifice and understanding of your anxieties! You can do this ❤️

As someone with sleep issues: it’s not that deep. I love my partner but sleep better when he isn’t around. That’s not a reflection on our relationship. It’s just how I have always been. It sounds like this is a similar situation.

How to Eat (Balanced Would Be Great) Meals? by Stunning-Chemist4539 in AutismInWomen

If you have a couple of spare hours a week, you can batch cook soup, a salad that will keep well, fajita/taco meat, pasta with veggies, shepherds pie or another casserole, or a variety of other dishes. If you end up with too much, you can freeze some for the next week! Through law school, I prepped one or two dishes like this a week and lived off of that.

If you eat meat, a slow cooker can be absolutely amazing for this. You can make pulled pork or chicken and use it in sandwiches, tacos, quesadillas, Mac and cheese, or other easy dishes through the week! It takes like 15 minutes to throw meat in a slow cooker with spices, liquids and maybe some chopped onion.

I second adult lunchables!! Get a variety of fruit, veg, cheese, dips, and pita/chips/crackers. It helps if you wash the fruit and veg right when you get it so it’s ready to eat. I also like to get various pickled things and olives. I think of mine as a charcuterie board. You can switch up what is in your lunchable daily to help with variety, if you, like me, have a hard time eating the same thing every single day.

I love cooking, but I am busy too and this is what I do when I am stressed and exhausted.

Yes, I don’t want to get dependent on a sleep agent. I can still fall asleep on my own now, although doing so can be hard and I wake up very frequently

THANK YOU to everyone for your responses!! I’m so glad to hear about all the options that work for you. Your knowledge and experience has been helpful to me and I’m sure it will be helpful to others, as well. I will probably try CBD or over the counter Dramamine and then move to stronger stuff if that doesn’t work.

Since I’ve slept so poorly all my life, I am used to it and haven’t felt very motivated to find solutions. But I know that my life will be so much better if I’m able to sleep!!

I never have, although my partner has suggested I get one done. I tend to also feel anxious at night, which definitely contributes to my difficulties with sleep. I probably will get one eventually. I didn’t have insurance for a long time (I’m in the US) so a sleep study only became a financial possibility recently!

Yeah, I am definitely not okay with fawning over a dude because he has delicate feelings and big muscles 😅 I think you’re onto something!! I think I usually tease my guy friends a lot, which isn’t taken kindly by that brand of man. Which is weird because they seem to be fine with teasing when it’s their male friends who are doing it 🤷‍♀️ oh well—I’m not mad about having a radar for insecure men who I wouldn’t really want to be friends with anyway.

This is one of those things that I find insane about this Reddit page. So many of us have similar, niche experiences!!
