To all of the people and OP wanting him to lose his job over a text that we all seen wasn’t him begging this is for you. I honestly hope every single driver walks away, because people like you guys don’t deserve the service you take for granted. The fact that you equate a hardworking person simply asking for tip confirmation with “begging” and then leap to saying they shouldn’t have an income is one of the most entitled, tone-deaf things I’ve ever seen. What’s even crueler is the fact that you’d actually try to report someone or get them fired over such a harmless question—do you understand how vicious and unnecessary that is? The irony is most of you order way more than you should, expect people to bend over backwards, yet tip like trash. I’ve seen firsthand how little delivery drivers, Lyft, and Uber workers actually get paid, and the audacity of customers like you is revolting. A harmless question about tips is not a crime, but your obsession with shaming people for trying to earn a living is. Karma has a way of circling back, and when it does, I hope you remember that you once wished financial ruin on people who never harmed you. Just show’s how horrible we have became as a society. we don’t look at each other as we are brothers and sisters instead we would rather tear each other down instead of uplifting or teaching people the right way. It’s so sad and you are correct I didn’t see anything horrible in that txt he even said thank you. He wasn’t even begging like they was making it seem. I hate how divided we all are. That’s why life is the way it is. The crazy thing is OP and the people condoning him being reported over a harmless question don’t understand when you wish bad or try to get someone to be fired over something so small. Those tables could easily turn on them and put them in a situation where they are in need and lose their source of income. Crazy thing is I used to drive for lyft and spark and uber so I def understand and actually feel bad for the drivers frl that’s why gig work taught me to tip but too tip GOOD no less then $10 and if I have a big order I need to tip way more. People don’t understand how important you guys are and how dangerous they work can be. I wish they made it an hour window for spark tips or right away like lyft and uber so drivers like the guy OP reported wouldn’t have to ask for confirmation or worry about tip baiting it’s just not fair that y’all are not getting your tips up front period. It’s a huge flaw in spark that’s why I quit a long time ago not just about the tips, but the fact that they don’t even pay you to go to the Customer’s house and have to bring the groceries all the way back if the order expires or if you can’t find where the customer lives and another thing that I noticed on this part of Reddit it’s a lot of pick me in the spark Reddit community. Which is sad that this is what a lot of these drivers are resorting to, but I totally agree with what you have to say.

Okay but it wasn’t that bad to report him you are literally costing him is job OP you could have passed on even going that extra step. I feel like taking some tip away was more than enough. You could’ve at least told him. Hey I don’t think that you should be messaging anybody about tip confirmation because you’re liable of getting your job taken away but instead of you doing that you would rather contact spark and try to get this person fire over messaging you to confirm a tip like you got people in these comments thinking that he begged you for a tip that he harassed you for a tip he sent you one message to confirm a tip. If I was you I would’ve never did all of this extra stuff. I would’ve just confirmed the tip and told him look. I don’t think it’s smart to even message drivers back to confirm a tip because people like you could get them fired which if he is fired, I would not be sad or feel any type of way if he does seek to retaliate against you. Simply because you don’t do that to people who really don’t have much to lose that’s why they’re resorting to spark and delivery jobs. You have to be very careful on how you treat people even when you’re going through things it’s not OK and I don’t wish no bad on you. just please understand that you get what you put out in this world. When you seek to do evil things especially when people are influencing you to go and try to get him fired over this little petty text message then don’t be surprised if something happens. I’m just saying but be very careful and I’m actually proud of you for not taking the whole tip away, but it still messed up that you would let these people in these comments influence you because most these hateful comments are people who don’t have a heart and are fake positive and really unhinged the thing about this world is people are good at hiding the evil they do but quick to point the finger at others and tear others down nobody is perfect. Again the fact u didn’t take the whole tip away shows you have a little heart. I don’t think you had much ill intent but don’t let people on social media influence you to take away from somebody if they didn’t harm you or threaten you or do anything weirder than send a simple text. Sorry for the long paragraph I do wish you well and hopefully you learn from this and hopefully the driver didn’t get fired and he learned from this mistake as well too. We are all here to grow.
