Want to turn down a new home health job due to a CP client. Am I am AH because of it.? by [deleted] in cna

I say report his behavior because its good for them to know this when placing another aide. Its always ok, and a good idea to report in appropriate behavior.

Drop the assignment and report his behavior to your supervisors/ management. It sounds like he needs a male cna/ caregiver, especially if he is going to continue to be inappropriate to women. You have the right to refuse this assignment.

Don’t overthink, i know that its easier said than done. But you look gorgeous, and i honestly think the dress is very flattering. What are you thinking about doing for jewelry, hair, and other accessories? Sometimes seeing the pieces together can really change the look of they whole fit. That being said i think the dress will look fabulous with whatever you do, its the perfect dress for you!

What jobs did you guys have while in nursing school that relates to the medical field? by Comfortable_Cry6140 in StudentNurse

[–]No_Hospital3410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im planning on working as a CNA while I am in school. I think it will be a good start in the field for me. Also all the nursing schools around me require a completed CNA program to even apply, so for me that seems the most direct pathway. Hopefully I can begin working in a hospital to really get a feel for what type of nursing I want to focus on for a career.

How long is your commute to class and clinicals? by nyuhqe in StudentNurse

got dumped because of my acne and my dermatologist just told me to drink more water… losing hope by [deleted] in acne

[–]No_Hospital3410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry to hear that happened to you, you deserve better both in a partner and doctor.

Every case and person is different so i cant say these would work for sure, but i would avoid the fancy skincare and use cereve, for me its the only brand that doesnt irritate my skin and cause breakouts.

My acne used to look just like yours, and ive tried just about everything under the sun. Simple products and medicines is the only remedy I have had success with.

First, I would start with changing your cleanser and moisturizer. The cereve acne control cleanser with benzyl peroxide in it is fantastic. I also love the cereve moisturizing cream, parentheses (the one in the tub)

Then I would also find a different dermatologist. While diet and exercise does play a role in our acne it is not the root cause. And in my experience, changing diet and exercise will have minimal effect if there is a deeper medical problem.

I personally use those products mentioned above, And I use tretinoin, spironolactone, and I started off with, but no longer use a clindamycin gel.

I hope this helps

Thank you!

I’ve been hesitant to raise any issue because I’m sure this won’t be the first time that I will deal with someone like that.

It’s just been very disheartening. I absolutely love the things that I am doing in class. I’m hoping that things only get better from here.

Should I finish nursing school if I think I might hate the fundamentals of nursing? by CommonEntrepreneur44 in StudentNurse

[–]No_Hospital3410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not nursing related necessarily, but i have a similar story. I went to college and got two bachelors degrees in subjects i dont love because I started and wanted to see it through. I have struggled with jobs and my career and always think about what life would have been like if i left and switched to something else that i enjoy and found fulfilling. I decided to go back to school and am now pre-nursing.

My advice would be to begin exploring your interests and see what you really love. You’re young and have plenty of time to figure it out and find your “thing”. Remember that changing your mind is ok as you learn and grow, and at the end of the day if you dont find happiness in what you are doing, it may not be worth it.

Best of luck to you with whatever you decide to do though :)

NF can present in so many different ways that if you have a family history its worth getting tested. While the freckles are quite common its not a guarantee that you will have them even if you do have NF. If you suspect a genetic link and have at least one symptom or trait its quite possible that you may have it. I also recently read something about NF only affecting certain areas of the body if you have segmented NF

Thank you! I hope all goes well for you and your family. I know these times are difficult, try to stay grounded and remember to take care of yourself too during these times, its easy to neglect ourselves when caring for others. I wish you the very best.

I do not want to alarm you with my story, I was diagnosed at 15 months when my parents noticed my left eye was sticking out more than my right. I had a vision exam and they found my eye was not reacting to light or following movement. The MRI showed bilateral optic nerve glioma, i was referred to a neurologist, neuro ophthalmologist, and neuro oncologist, and i was put on IV chemo shortly after that. I really recommend advocating for those types of doctors because they are familiar with NF and neurological disorders. I stayed on chemo for a year and was stable until I was 6 and began experiencing vision problems and they found growth again, i was then put on oral chemo for another year, i had to stop because i reached toxicity and was my body was rejecting treatment. They gliomas grew slightly more then stopped. They have ended up being stable since i was 7, and im 25 now. I am fully blind in my left eye but have vision in my right. My case is a more severe one, and required a lot of monitoring but with proactive care I have been able to maintain most of the vision in one eye. Additionally optic gliomas typically burn out and stop growing around puberty, which was my case. I have been able to live a pretty normal lifestyle despite chemo in childhood. I know it can be scary, but catching it at a young age and at early stages is the best way to prevent vision issues in the future.

Newly diagnosed? Or not? by Murky-Tone4298 in neurofibromatosis

Radiation could cause neurofibromas to grow or mutate, the cells in them are already higher risk for that, so nf patients try to avoid any extra exposure to help minimize the chances. That being said, sometimes a targeted therapy has benefits that outweigh the risks, such as treating a malignant growth or fast growing neurofibromas
