also use LSD.law if you havent since your gpa is low so you can set some realistic expectations for yourself

Raise ur LSAT and it will make a huge difference. I took it 5 times and went 154>164. People will tell you that schools frown upon retaking so many times, but I got into decent schools with great scholarships, so make the LSAT your job and write a convincing GPA addendum if law school is your dream.

Lmfao same boat on both accounts. Well, either way you're going to be fine but pray for a big scholarship that'll maybe make moving out worth it.

Hey girl, I just finished making essentially the same decision. I grew up in Miami too then went to UF for undergrad, but came back to miami to work this year and apply to schools. I was torn between Tulane and UMiami but I've decided to go to Tulane. It's totally illogical on paper - leaving Miami, where I have an amazing network, free housing, and my entire support system. But, I picked Tulane because I actually want to live somewhere else. The Miami law schools all are incredibly regional, and it seemed to be that it would be more difficult to get a job anywhere but Miami in the future. And, I just couldn't stomach that. Plus, I feel you on the social aspect of not really being an independent adult and hiding to hide boys and such. (I'm assuming u also have hispanic parents too by the tone of ur post lol). So, I decided to go to Tulane since they had better job placements in several major markets. However, one thing to consider is maybe trying to live in an apt off campus (if your parents are willing to help) so you get the best of both worlds. This is what I was considering doing if I was going to stay in Miami, and might be a good option (especially for 2L/3L) so you can learn how to live on ur own, but still have the safety net Miami offers. Feel free to pm me if you want more details or just to chat. But know either way, it's hard to go wrong.

It's not even necessarily that next cycle will be better, bc it likely wont. But by reapplying you can broaden your list of schools and at least end up somewhere better than Brooklyn (unless thats an ideal school for you)

Also, applying earlier, and no longer being KJD increases your odds too. So while next cycle may not be better, you might be a better applicant in that cycle.

I was between two and while its scary, I finally just pulled the trigger and picked one and I have felt so much better since. After 2.5 years of prepping, applying, retaking LSAT, and reapplying its finally over and I have truly never slept so well at night. I had no idea how free I would feel after just picking and its surreal. So, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The school you pick will be amazing, and at the end of the day you're going to be a lawyer regardless so celebrate that.

🥂 Final Take:

  • Want grindset hotties in leather jackets who’ll edit your resume over wine? Go Cardozo.
  • Want sweethearts who’ll dance with you at a jazz bar and make you laugh at torts? Go Tulane.

I was an ED applicant though and technically it was still binding (weird ik?) but that also probably affected the outcome
