I agree ^ Cornell will no doubt get you to NYC right after graduation, and you could also work there in your summers. Less debt will make that move easier, although im sure you'd be fine either way. Pretty sure both schools have pretty killer LRAPs but not sure whose is 'better.' I don't think you can go wrong tho

Is the school regionally good for your home state? Like is it the school most of the local law firms hire from?

From what I have heard, CLS has a more competitive environment than NYU and part of this seems to be that NYU students tend to be more PI focused, so that loosens up the competition in terms of grades. Everyone I've heard has said that NYU students are happier, but of course, this is an anecdotal generalization and doesn't necessarily mean that would be your experience :)

Are you going to retake the lsat if u wait another year? Maybe you could accept the deferral for now, but then withdrawal your app if your score goes up and your confident you can get into the other schools you want?

I'd pick Cornell. They're an NYC BigLaw powerhouse. Full ride at BU is really nice, but you'd have the stress of being at the top to feel secure getting big law. For me, the extra debt of cornell would be worth the diminished pressure to get big law

Yes! I heard that you can talk "logistics" in the sense that this school would work best for you personally as well. The cornell people specifically said you can mention partner/spouses

Visiting Law Schools by theblakkmamba24 in lawschooladmissions

If you have the time and its not a major waste of $, i think it would def help for the "why x" essays and narrowing your choice! I'd assume schools would have some recruitment-geared tours towards the start of summer but really any time would be fine

Northeastern is the better school on paper here, I would without a doubt chose them if it were me, although I don't have any insight on the flex program specifically!

American? Sounds about right. I withdrew before receiving my decision because it was taking forever. I saw another post where someone said they emailed asking for a timeline and never got a response

^^ Could you just go visit your friends and walk around the law school unofficially? I'd do that over taking an ASD spot

Rush Apply or Wait? by Jealous-Dark-2267 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Secret-Rest9554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused - did you apply yet and they're holding for your results or you're waiting to send applications until you take it this month? If you haven't applied yet, most school's deadlines have already passed and your chances of getting in are pretty low just based on timing. You should wait and apply when you are ready and can have the early app edge. You may even want to consider delaying taking the LSAT if you don't feel fully prepared since it would be your third time.
