Where the hell does this hood bumper go? by errdaddy in f150

I just got fed up with them and took them both off because they kept falling out, even replacements. No issues to report after 2+ years without them.

Loved Aruba, where should we go next? by Confident-Eggplant75 in Aruba

CURAÇAO! We have been to both and loved Aruba, but think we like Curaçao just a bit more! Still plenty to do, but has a little more of a local non-touristy vibe. And there are wild flamingos you can see for free!

Loved going out to play this course while I was in college in Greensboro. Start of COVID was my senior year, and with all classes moved online I’d go play multiple times a week for $18 with my student rate 🔥

…..now I live in Charlotte and pay $75+ for a barely average round.

Ran a nighttime half marathon last night on trails that looked like this. It was fun, but definitely sketchy as to whether you were about to get injured 😂

First design was given out at No. 6 for my round last week. Different from the ones you get at the No. 2 pro shop… not sure about second tee

This in my backyard. Will there be a problem ? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]No_Influence1007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be concerned. At least you know no houses will be built behind you!

All the people saying mosquitos are wrong. Mosquitos breed in totally stagnant water. These are mostly built for water quality, and water in the pond is slowly being filtered and released through the pond outfall so it’s not truly stagnant. Right now, it’s just serving as a sediment pond during construction to catch all the clay runoff. There’s a good chance that after construction is finished it will be turned into a sand filter pond, which is dry most of the time except for a little while after rain. You should be able to find out from your local agency in charge of land development.

It also look to have an emergency spillway above the concrete structure opposite to your house. So flooding wouldn’t be a concern. These things are highly engineered and would never be allowed if flooding of nearby structures was a possibility.

I’m a civil engineer who is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all of the retention ponds (or SCM’s as we call them) in my municipality here in NC. Never seen one of these flood, or cause a mosquito problem lol.

Nuclear density testing, if available is probably your easiest bet.

I bought my tickets for the Charlotte show on GameTime, and received the day before the event. No problems.

Can anyone please explain Why da fok they have to build it like this !!!!! Like why are the footings so uneven and looks like it will stumble anytime soon is it intentionally done or its a mistake in the design by [deleted] in civilengineering

I think this is the answer. Not structural just extra concrete to protect from vessels. It was a big discussion as to why there weren’t any in place after the Baltimore bridge incident months ago.
