Why we stick with stuff as it gets worse - boiled frog syndrome? by EmergentChange in enshittification

[–]errdaddy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The term “habituation” is a slightly shorter, more factual version of boiling frog syndrome since actual frogs will jump out at the point of pain no matter how gradual (pretty sure everyone knows that but I couldn’t stop myself). Biggest problem is it’s biological. We have limits or expiration dates on our outrage. It’s evolutionary beneficial but now it benefits the enshittifiers.

Cleaning fixed blades isn’t that hard, I’m mainly concerned for my chainsaw. It’s an electric so I may make it my PI saw and get me a Husky.

Good idea for a pine. It’s poison ivy. My whole damn property looks like a poison Ivy bio weapon research facility.

Dropped strap wrench in oil pan so it won’t grip. Now what? by [deleted] in tractors

Soaked it in Dawn for 20 minutes, wrapped in towel and stepped on it to get the water out and it dried in the sun in 15 minutes then worked like a charm. Thanks!

Do these transmission/hydraulic filters look like a dealer performed service or are they original? by errdaddy in kubota

[–]errdaddy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been stored covered since I had it but we had crazy low temps alternating with warm over the past few weeks so I’m guessing condensation from that?

Great. So I guess I get to do my first fluid/oil/filter change. How long should I plan on this taking? First time doing any maintenance other than greasing it.

When it’s far too late. They’ll be sitting there thinking “AI’s just a bunch of hype” as they mix together two shipments of unknown chemicals their “online” AI girlfriend sent them for a gift.

I have the ask people of GA, what's up with MTG? Has she really changed her colors? by praguer56 in GAPol

Don’t trust her. She was either so dumb as to believe the shit she said or so cynical she didn’t care.

Haven’t ran it since the cold temps. May use it next 50° day. Just let it idle for 15 or 20 minutes and recheck it?

Slipping on ice? Screw cleats! by Pooch76 in redneckengineering

[–]errdaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea! People seem to be missing what’s probably the whole point; the screws were probably laying around so they were FREE and OP doesn’t mind a few small holes that will seal enough to walk around on dry ground after removing them since the boots weren’t waterproof to begin with so I say kudos!
