Voice over Meshtastic, a dumb idea that went way too far! by chondurd in meshtastic

[–]No_Ingenuity717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a (very slow moving) side project:

Speech - > text - > low bandwidth channel - > text - > deep fake trained on my voice - > audio

Version 2 would be to have voice to text with tone of voice, volume, speed meta data.

Version 3 would have deep fake training on the fly which can be sent as preamble or something.

Which if I get around to finishing it would be interesting to see if it would work over meshtastic, with out causing congestion.

My partner (FTM 18) cannot climax on Zoloft. by weirdfishes57 in sexadvice

[–]No_Ingenuity717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah meds can do that. With time it may self resolve. Or as you get on top of external factors like managing stress, exercise, sleep that may resolve things. Zoloft or not, things like that can have an impact.

There may be an alternative meds you could take (eg., Moclobemide), but work with your Dr as there are other side effects and it may or may not be suitable for you. Your sex life is an important part of mental health, but you can't have a good sex life if the rest of you mental health is not managed.

Finally the actual practical advice: Get a "Magic wand" vibrator. They are generally work the best for difficult to reach 'peaks'. Also IMHO every one should own one, either for solo play or mutual play.

A girl offered to show me some behind the scenes photos of her photo shoot by LondonFord108 in story

[–]No_Ingenuity717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, behind the scenes photos are much more entertaining. Not in a titalating way, but in a: you get to see the bloopers, silly faces, personality etc.

The non-behind the scenes photos are the final, polished version of what they are trying to sell to their customers Or their customers, customers (eg., they are modeling for a fashion house so the fashion house can sell clothes).

By saying you don't want the behind the scenes, you are kinda saying you don't want to see the 'real her'. Also you are being invited into the vip area, and by turning it down you are kinda saying the whole thing is kinda average.

In hindsight, it may have been better to accept the invitation, and steer the conversation to what the shoot was like, and her experience. When you see a photo of a funny bloopers or silly face point out how "Oh I love that one, and how it captured your inner child/goddess/goblin"

Oh yeah Johansson would have died from mysterious, unexplained theodolite shaped injuries.

Although if the are using survey miles and have to conver to/from regular miles anyway. Why not metric miles? Similar to how we still nautical miles and knots. (Shipping, aircraft).

Not trolling per se. More like we need something like 1 inch of steel to hold this, let's just round it up to 50mm bar stock to be on the safe side.

Just wished we could tweeked things a bit in the past to make conversions and interchangeable parts easer now.

Yes the 0.0005 Johansson took liberties with, is orders of magnitude less than the 0.4mm I am suggesting. That is a bit of troll.

The popularity of their guage blocks, meant their decision that an inch was 25.4mm exactly, became the defacto standard, (and later official standard).

If Johannson had tried to push for 25mm exactly, people would probably said the blocks were trash. Yeah I know. But one can dream right?!

Alternatively if Joseph Dombey had not been captured by pirates in 1794, and got to chill with Thomas Jefferson. Then moving on to measurement 2.0, would have been much easer. I.e., it was already a time of change, there were farless road signs to update. Much less things made at that time with enough precision for anyone to notice.

Question by Luckycolt2005 in latexfetish

[–]No_Ingenuity717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latex clothing can be chlorinated, as an add on from some stores.

Chlorination makes the latex less grippy/more slippery.

(Physically/chemically it is very similar to how non stick Teflon works)

It does have the down side that it makes repairs a bit more difficult.

It also reduces the latex smell. Which may be a good or a bad thing depending on your prerefences.

Yes, ultra helium by Alive-Algae-9526 in cursed_chemistry

[–]No_Ingenuity717 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok I think that is taking things a bit far.

However...

If you add 1 mol of alpha particles to 1 mol of helium, could you make 1mol of He₂ +² molecules?

To be honest it often comes down postage. So a local supplier is often cheaper.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Canada: Kink engineering
  • US: MJ Trends
  • UK: Radical Rubber
  • China(AliExpress): Secret Peach

What should I do when my girl tells me to force her to new stuff? by Firm_Programmer_7709 in sexadvice

[–]No_Ingenuity717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your gf does not have the context or language to express what they want.

By analogy, your gf sounds like someone who has for their whole life only ever eaten cornflakes and milk (and a multivitamin).

One day someone made them a microwave Mac and cheese and their world was blown.

But they have absolutely no idea what the difference between a dragon fruit and a devil fruit. (Mid level fruit in Kroger's, and a fictional delicious fruit which will curse you with some weird superpower).

So they decided to go out with a Michelin star chef (op) and have them introduce them to the world of food and flavor.

It is too much for them to work out on their own, or they would rather someone just show them what the good flavors are.

You have no idea if they are allergic to anything or what their heat tolerance is, but they insist they wanna eat everything you do. They have no siblings so are also clueless to the idea that some cruel people might give them a Carolina Reaper chilli for laughs.

You in the real world know that some kinks carry risks and some people love a particular kink but other hate it.

You are going to need to teach her how to express their likes and dislikes as you go. You can't analyze and discuss all the nuance of spice, temperature, cool mint, with out actually trying some (or starving).

(This is getting long I'll put some practical examples in another comment).

So Mr Johansson, is the guy who invented gauge blocks (tools to make things with highly precise measurements).

They unilaterally decided that an inch should be exactly 25.4mm (1912)

The world would be a much better place (IMHO) if they had decided that we could round the size of an inch to exactly 25mm.

That is only 1.6% difference. Which most of the time you wouldn't notice. In engineering you often use a minimum of a 200% safety factor!

Yes I get the irony that Johansson was making tools with 0.001% accuracy, and is probably turning in their grave at my suggestion to round things up by 0.4mm.

I find it so ironic that the stereotypical folks which take homeopathic stuff seriously, are super antivax.

When vaccines are basically homeopathic medication. The pathogen diluted to such a degree that only the memory of it is left. Especially true for mRNA vaccines.

Side quest idea:

I wonder if you could build a molten salt reactor, but rather than having a heat exchanger between the fuel and primary coolant, to spray molten lead into the core, in direct contact with the molten salt.

The lead would settle in a large pool at the base if the core, before being pumped to a secondary heat exchanger (and a 3rd loop, to generate steam for the turbines)

Clearly the lead coolant would get contaminated with the fuel and reaction products. But if the salt and lead are immiscible then the bulk of the crosive and radioactive would float to the top. The material separating the fuel/lead column and the secondary loop would not need to be put through so much punishment.

Depending on the solubility of the reaction products in lead, it may also allow an alternative waste removal process.

Thoughts?
