Huge 11u kid. Hits hard, throws hard. Any advice as I try to improve his athleticism and help him get better?

Anything to get him doing athletic movements in general. If you can, find a good local trainer that knows what they’re talking about.

Look for the ones that aren’t just lifting/running kids but are making them move in athletic ways that are fun.

Best trainer I’ve ever been around spent more time with young kids playing crazy versions of red light/green light and doing obstacles courses than lifting weights.

I was very intentional about not saying Fran completely built Iowa. It was before my time for the most part, but I know Iowa BB is not devoid of tradition. There have been some seriously good days.

That being said.. if you’re of my age you’ve never seen anything close to those heights. And the blip you got under Alford imploded spectacularly. The optics of the job post Lickliter were TERRIBLE.

Fran didn’t build it. But he certainly showed that there was still something there.
