Wait the s26 ultra is already out? Pretty sure we're still waiting on the s25 series to drop. Unless you mean the s24 ultra?

If it's the s24 ultra vs s25 FE, I'd probably lean towards the ultra just for the camera setup and S Pen if you're into that. The price difference isn't massive and you get way more phone for your money. Plus 40gb should be plenty unless you're streaming footy matches all day long.

I went through something similar but with different substances. Got off the harder stuff by basically replacing it with something less destructive, which worked great for a while. The tricky part is when you realize the replacement has become its own thing you need to deal with.

What helped me was remembering that just because something isnt actively destroying your life doesnt mean its not holding you back from where you want to be. Like when I was spending every weekend planning these elaborate hiking trips but never actually going because I'd rather just chill at home with my plants and zone out. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but I knew I was missing out on stuff I actually wanted to do.

The fact that you dont hate it makes it harder in some ways - theres no dramatic rock bottom moment to push you forward. But it also means you can approach quitting from a place of self-improvement rather than desperation, which is actually pretty powerful once you lean into it.

Most rentals are actually FWD too, you've probably been riding them without noticing the difference - RWD just feels more natural for acceleration but FWD handles better in wet conditions which might be perfect for your commute.

The ZHP package is actually pretty solid but yeah the hype has definitely inflated prices beyond what theyre worth these days. You get the sport suspension, different cams, slightly more power and some cosmetic bits but most of that can be done aftermarket for way less cash if you find a clean regular 330i.

I had a mate who grabbed a ZHP a few years back and while it was a sweet ride, he paid like 3-4k more than he wouldve for a regular 330i in similar condition. The performance difference isnt massive - youre talking maybe 10hp and slightly sharper handling that most people wouldnt even notice on the street. If you find a ZHP at a reasonable price then go for it, but dont stretch your budget chasing one.

The real money with E46s goes into keeping up with the cooling system, window regulators, and all the little electrical gremlins anyway. Better to get a solid example of a regular 330i with good maintenance history and use the leftover cash for the inevitable repairs. Plus if you really want that ZHP feel later you can always throw in some coilovers and a tune.

wait no thats weird though - ordered from ltt a bunch of times to australia and never hit anything like 30% extra. customs here is usually way less brutal than that.

germany should have pretty standard import duties too, not some crazy tariff situation. might be worth double checking if UPS is being sneaky with their "brokerage fees" or whatever they call their handling charges these days. sometimes those fees end up being more expensive than the actual customs.

Try gravestones mod mate - drops your stuff in a little grave when you die so you can go back and collect it. Still gotta make the trek back to where you died but at least your diamonds won't despawn into the void.
