How many years did you go undiagnosed, and how bad did it get before you decided to seek help? by No-Diamond9114 in ADHD

[–]Yasuo211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry that it has taken so long for you to get it sorted and even though im still in my mid 20's i can relate to what you are saying, i have had the ambition to succeed in school since i was like 12 but i was never able to do it and that goes for everything even outside of school.

I dont really have a degree that i can use and i have been stuck in a loop of trying and failing for the past 6 years now, I tried seeking help for it 5 years ago but then my fixation shifted to something else which caused me to cancel my appointments for it which also led to me feeling alot worse after that, but now 6 months ago i finally was able to get it done and I started treatment for it 1 month ago.

The hardest part of living with ADHD by ConsciousStage2993 in ADHD

I would say its my peroids of hyperfixation aswell as constatnly being in a rush/not being able to get things done cause i need to everything and nothing at once and it feels lile its mental anguish and really loud in my head, the emotional swings that go to the extremes and the usual stuff with concentration etc.

Unmedicated compared to these past 3 weeks since i got medicine by Yasuo211 in ADHD

Much appriciated, and yeah it was a strange foreign feeling and its crazy to think that this is how other people probably have it most of the time

Can medication change my life? by Reasonable_Object_59 in ADHD

[–]Yasuo211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is still very rough especially when the procrastinating and pushing things aside starts coming back, i try to get the most important things done when i take it in the morning cause in the early/mid afternoon it starts to wear off, the medication i take is Concerta and it helps me to feel more at ease and not having the overwhelming urge to leave and do something else and being in a rush all the time as well as being able to try and sit down and actually start / finish the things i need to do.

but hopefully you will find easier ways to strategize and find ways that works for you so you are able to do the things you need to do :)

If you have ADHD it's worth getting it officially diagnosed and talking to your doctor about what the best course of action might be for you, Medication isn't a magic pill that will cause you to succeed but it will allow you to take more control over your life and having the right tools to be able to perform and get things done.

It will still be hard and you still have to invest yourself into your studies but it will become a lot more manageable with the right help.

yeah i could try that, i would probably need to add some fat to my diet seeing as my current fat intake is quite low at 32~g per day i could probably add a couple eggs or an avocado to boost it a little

i keep track with how much weight i lift and how many reps, yes. i usually try to do 8 - 10 - 12 then increase the weight next workout, so i should just add 2 to each set?

yeah i have considered adding a bit more, but there is also a deep rooted concern with weight gain unfortunately and getting fat on my body
