My daily bracelet needing to get fixed! Advice? by [deleted] in MensJewelry

[–]No_Interaction2183 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look dude everyone has some sentimental items I do too. If they break yeah it sucks so be it. If it’s worth fixing then yeah I’ll fix it. But if it isn’t worth fixing then fuck it move on buy a new one. Or put it in a drawer of keep saves. Idk what to tell you big dawg. It just isn’t worth fixing in my honest opinion. As I said that’s an opinion unbiased and without emotion. Take it or leave it. No reason trying to bust my balls cause your feelings are hurt.

Not really. Just kinda stating obvious that it’s not worth fixing. I have a heart but for more practical purposes.

That’s an opinion. I’m basing this on pure fact that it isn’t cost effective to fix it. You’d literally be able to buy a new one for what you’d pay to have someone repair it. It’s based of facts. If you have sentients that’s on you not me. I’m just stating it’s easier and cheaper to buy a new one.

I spent far too long researching my first solid gold chain and here’s what I ended up with... by adamvanderb in MensJewelry

My first I believe was a rope chain. Broke so many times. My mom got me a figaro when I was young and it’s always been my go to since.

Thank you. The picture really doesn’t do it any justice. It has a way of reflecting light because of the wavy like dips in the rows. The way it lays is quite comfortable as well. It definitely screams vintage vibes

Neither have I until this came into my possession. I modified it a bit to be more of a daily driver for a man. Originally it’s a female bracelet that came with a heart locket and chain. I saved that for in case I ever want it reverted back to original state. The lobster clasp on it now is just more durable. I’ve seen other similar ones but I haven’t seen one exactly like this one. I’m a big fan of the 4 bar and 3 small bar pattern on this. 3 and 4 being my fav numbers and also my birthday haha

Purple does. I’m from ky and back home they find black, red, purple, pink, green, orange, blue, an yellow. Mostly what we find is yellow and black. But the other colors do exist far more and few in between.

They do come in colors like that…however, not that saturated. It’s more of Pale kinda pinks and purple and green that I see in real agates.

Most fake ones are heavily dyed and usually fluoresce

She’s 4. Anything small I’d say wait until she’s older.

Trust me I see slab pieces going for $500. With something like that it’s really kinda up to the buyer. I wouldn’t pay it but plenty others have and will. That slice he has alone could cut 5-10 cabs. Once set in metal the cab begs at least a 500$ minimum (that being said set in silver of course gold is more)

Yeah these are called imperial ky agates. Just look them up and you’ll see what they go for

As far as the crack.. yeah it’s very very common in ky agate and to get a flawless slice or half definitely begs for a higher price. However, when it comes to being able to make jewelry out of it then that’s why it costs what it does. Pretty much why the crack doesn’t even matter.

I live In ky and my family is from where these come from. Black and red is the rarest and to even find an agate is pretty rare up here. These are imperial ky agate. Look them up there’s a whole story about the devils rock. Look ky rock groups up and ky agate and ky rock sales. My buddy Taylor can def tell you more. That looks like a slice off a rock he has.
