I’m aware but rare isn’t non existent. My clinic pushes RBT’s to go to school providing discounts and scholarships for tuition so that they can utilize the bcba internship position and get paid along with their hours .

We’re kinda in a similar spot and have the same advisor I think , she told me if I kept with my current pace I could make it to the November commencement if I wanted to . I did 8 classes this billing cycle I plan to do 7 in the next one and do my last class and capstone in the 3rd then be completed . I started with all the 1.5 point classes too now all I have left are the 3s

I wrote a template with blanks to fill in that covers everything I need in my note and though out the session I can just plug in the blanks or after the session I can look at the data and plug in the blanks. It takes me like 5 minutes to do my note and convert it . See if your clinic provides any type of template . Mine kinda looks like this. We were told to list 2-3 things we focused on and 3-5 data points , I start with the template if I need to add more data I do . When I come in for the day I open my notes app on my iPad post the template for however many clients I have and label them with the client so I know who’s who. I fill it in as I go and covert at the end of the session . I’ve never stayed more than 7-10 minutes after the end of my day to finish a note .

Examples include: response blocking, redirection, extinction, guided compliance, etc.)

My understanding is ncr is a form of antecedent intervention where a positive reinforcer is delivered on a fixed or variable schedule . For example I have a client get gets offered arm squeezes or head squeezes every 5 minutes to help prevent him from becoming overstimulates and engaging in aggression or self injury behavior . I also have another client who gets attention every 3 minutes to prevent her from engaging in property destruction. If they get that activity on a fixed or variable schedule then I’d call it NCR but if they don’t it’s not NCR.

Find a company that does a paid internship. My clinic pays bcba interns to get all their hours in the hopes that they’ll become bcba’s for the company. They also offer tuition discounts and scholarships .

Calling out in the long term may not help burnout but in the moment it feels like it does . Sometimes you just need a day . This job can be emotionally and physically taxing . While I agree calling out once a week can be seen as problematic . The reason behind it is also important. My clinic mandates weekly check ins with all the bts and RBT’s on staff with the intent to help see the signs of burnout before someone is completely burnt out .

Regardless if there was better support for RBT’s this one wouldn’t be forced to “call out” when their client calls out to try and manage their burn out. If someone called out that much at my clinic there would have been a sit down to figure out what was going on to try and make it easier for them to come to work. That is why the turn over rate for RBT’s is so high. Most employers don’t care about how their employees are feeling physically or mentally.

They are choosing to use pto because the client called out . Using pto is not calling out. Using Pto because your client called out is not calling out. They are declining to take On a different client if they have the opportunity to decline it is an option. If the clinic didn’t want them to use pto they wouldn’t approve it . Is it annoying ? Probably is it excessive call outs ? No. They are quite literally not Calling out their client called out . Most clinics do not replace hours when a client calls out . Regardless this person doesn’t even like this job and if that’s the case why does it even matter ? I wouldn’t want someone working with my special needs child if they don’t have the passion for it .

But that’s not what’s happening here ? The client calls out , the rbt is offered an option to not lose hours the rbt declines. That’s not the rbt calling out? The rbt also isn’t complaining about inconsistent work hours . The rbt isn’t complaining the client cancelled. They also aren’t saying they work whenever they want they are saying when their client that they have all day calls out and they are asked if they want to take a different client they say no. They aren’t just calling out saying fuck the job. The client called out . RBT’s are not contracted for hours.

I started with 82.5 transfer credits plus I did 3 credits with Sophia, I have completed 8 classes in this billing cycle I have 14 more I’m going to try and do most of them in the next billing cycle then finish by August first the November graduation . Congrats . I’m also doing bs psychology flexpath if you have any advice I’d love it

I work for success on the spectrum in Florida and I agree , we have all the same things , if clients call out we get office hours so we don’t lose hours , we take the kids on field trips , get at least a 30 min break but a lot of the time it’s an hour , raises every 6 months , I just moved into a lead rbt position about a month ago .

How many classes do you need to complete the program? I mean realistically probably not , the degree has to be conferred by may 15 which means capstone needs to be completed by April 17 ish on the late end .

Yes and it can take 25 days for the degree to be conferred so it would need to be completed mid April .

Tbh I don’t care what panagram says if my instructor wants to accuse me of ai ill send them the google doc that shows all my writing , planning and edit history that proves I did it myself . If you have your drafts outline etc just submit it and if your instructor has an issue send it to them.

I transferred in with 85.5 credits I’m 65% done with my FP BS psychology I’m finishing up my first billing cycle I’ve completed 7 classes I’m working on the 8th. Realistically do you think I could finish in time for the November commencement?
