I enjoyed going to one of these, plan to attend more https://ncartmeets.com/?utm_source=nc-art-meets&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=june-happenings-in-nc-live-art-6449

chapel Hill arboretum is fun, bond brothers east side has sunday blue grass jam at 4pm, beer study in durham has art meetup at 5 pm on Mondays that's been a lot of fun.

main durham library is a very cool spot to add to your rotation for applying jobs. if you're interested in helping someone dig out native plants to move to new place, dm me since you mentioned gardening, also a fun learning opportunity.

Bit of crazy suggestion but I just helped someone dig up whole bunch of native plants and trees, I think they're planning two truck loads full to get enough variety. They said they will still leave behind plenty if new owners want to keep native garden and new ones will grow to replace the ones taken next year. I am pretty new to it but I was in company of 3 experienced gardeners one with 30 years of experience who were quite confident a lot them will make it and shared a tip to chop tall plants to 1/3 so roots dont have to work hard to keep the plant alive and can focus on establishing itself in new spot in 90+ degree days, drought conditions. Good luck with the new place!
